GIST was established by Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT in 1993 as a national research-oriented university, running graduate and undergraduate degree programmes. GIST states it ranked 4th in the world for citations per faculty member in the 2025 QS World University Rankings.
■ Areas of specialty — tenure-track regular faculty
College of Natural Sciences, Department of Chemistry
- All areas in biochemistry and life chemistry, including chemical biology, biopharmaceuticals, nucleic acid chemistry, protein chemistry and synthetic biology. Applicants able to teach undergraduate and graduate biochemistry courses are preferred.
- Artificial-intelligence-related chemistry, including AI for biological chemistry and drug discovery. Applicants able to teach undergraduate and graduate biochemistry courses are preferred.
Graduate School of Semiconductor Specialization
- Any field within the social sciences, for candidates whose research is closely associated with science and technology. Law, business and economics are excluded.
■ Requirements
- A PhD in the relevant field. Applicants who do not yet hold the degree must submit a certificate of expected conferment.
- Able to teach and lecture proficiently in English
- GIST encourages qualified international and female scholars to apply
