Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-06-03
Welcome to Waegook. By creating an account or using Waegook you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy, Community Rules, Marketplace Safety Policy, and Prohibited Items Policy.
Waegook is an intermediary platform
Waegook is a user-to-user community marketplace that helps people discover listings, connect, and communicate. Waegook is not the seller, buyer, payment processor, broker, delivery provider, escrow provider, or guarantor of any transaction.
All payment and exchange happen off-app, directly between users. Waegook does not hold, transfer, or guarantee any money or goods.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your posts, messages, reviews, transactions, and conduct.
- Confirm item condition, price, payment method, pickup/delivery, legality, and safety directly with the other user before trading.
- Comply with all applicable laws of the Republic of Korea.
- Keep your login credentials secure and provide accurate account information.
No guarantees
Waegook does not guarantee transaction completion, item condition, the identity or honesty of any user, legality, payment, delivery, or safety. Trust signals such as a "Verified" badge or a listing check reduce risk but are not guarantees.
Content and moderation
You retain ownership of your content but grant Waegook the right to display and moderate it to operate the service.
- Public content may be reviewed and moderated.
- Waegook may remove posts, hide or restrict content, restrict or suspend accounts, preserve logs, and cooperate with lawful requests.
- High-risk posts (including jobs, housing, and services) may require review before publication or may be rejected.
Private messages
Private chats are private. Waegook reviews chat content only in connection with a report, abuse, safety, or legal matter — not casually. For fraud and safety checks, administrators may see which users are in a conversation on a post (the participants, not the message content).
Anonymous and guest content
Some features (such as Find It in Korea) let a member post with their public identity hidden ("anonymous"), or let a visitor post without an account ("guest"). Anonymous does not mean invisible to Waegook: anonymous member content remains linked to the member account internally, and guest content is linked to a generated guest identifier. Waegook administrators may identify the account or guest behind such content where necessary for moderation, safety, or legal compliance, and all platform rules, restrictions, and rate limits continue to apply.
- Guest requests are always reviewed by the Waegook team before they become public.
- A guest may add an email address for notifications and request management; it is optional and is never displayed publicly.
- Guest ownership works through secure links and codes — keep them safe; anyone holding them can manage the request.
- Waegook may store privacy-safe abuse signals (such as hashed device or network indicators) to limit spam, and may remove guest content or restrict repeat abuse.
Find It in Korea
Find It in Korea is a community discovery feature, not a marketplace. Items prohibited or restricted in the marketplace remain prohibited or restricted when discussed through Find It in Korea, comments, or private messages. Users may not use Find It in Korea to advertise, solicit or arrange transactions involving prohibited, illegally imported, unlabelled, counterfeit, unsafe or unlicensed goods or services.
Reviews
Reviews must be honest and based on a real interaction. Reviews that violate our rules may be removed.
Off-app transactions
Because transactions occur off-app between users, Waegook is not a party to them and is not responsible for any dispute, loss, or harm arising from them.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Waegook is not liable for dealings between users or for user-generated content.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; continued use means you accept the changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Questions: [email protected].
