Job Description
At BerkeleyEdu, you will be a kindergarten homeroom teacher with a Korean-speaking assistant teacher and you will be an English subject teacher to elementary school students (with no assistance).
1. Responsibilities Overview
• Conduct classes as scheduled.
• Prepare materials for classes
• Student assessment and reporting (each Branch has their own timings).
• Communicate and cooperate with other classroom teachers, co-teachers, and administration
• Attend meetings, workshops, and special events as required by the institute (up to 2 weekend days in a school year).
2. Requirements
• Be citizens of the following countries: U.S.A, Canada, U.K, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or South Africa
• Have all required documents (apostilled nationwide criminal background check and an apostilled diploma from a 4-year accredited university).
• Have a clean medical health check.
3. Working Conditions
• Student Type: Kindergarten and Elementary School Students
• Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.
• Break Times: 12:20~12:55(35min Lunch), 14:50~15:15(25min)
• Prep Times: One 45-minute class period, per day.
• Teaching Time: 35 Kindergarten Classes + 10~12 Elementary Classes a Week
• Class Length: Kindergarten Classes 35 minutes, Elementary Classes 45 minutes
• Class Size: 13 students maximum
• Teacher Training: Native Teacher Workshop (provided by the Ministry of Education), Teacher Orientation (offered at the end of February)
Salary
2.5M - 2.8M KRW per month (negotiable depending on experience)
Benefits
• Insured with the 4 National Insurances.
• Severance Pay: Paid upon the completion of employment (minimum 1-year contract)
• Vacation: 11 days plus National Korean Holidays per year (Vacation days are set by the school and announced in advance)
Housing
Housing or Housing Allowance Provided
Maximum 400,000KRW Housing Allowance
Need to put down a 500,000KRW deposit if using housing provided by school for any potential damage.
