KIAS Fellow in Mathematics (5-Year Appointment, Documents in English) — KIAS (Seoul)

The Korea Institute for Advanced Study is recruiting one KIAS Fellow in mathematics. It is a long appointment for an early-career researcher, and the whole application is in English.

■ Duties
- Independent research in any area of mathematics.

■ Who can apply
- A PhD in the relevant field, held or expected by the start date, with remarkable research achievements and the communication skills needed for international collaboration. Applicants prepare all documents in English, apart from reference letters, and the interview, which includes an open lecture, may be held online. The institute states that women and minorities are strongly encouraged to apply. Korean male citizens must have completed or be exempt from military service; this does not apply to foreign applicants.

■ Terms
- A five-year appointment, with a possible one-time renewal of up to two more years. Salary follows KIAS regulations, with Korean national health insurance, an individual research grant and a benefit card. Accommodation may be supported on request, depending on availability.
