Description

The Fusion and Plasma Dynamics Laboratory in KAIST's Department of Nuclear and Quantum Engineering is recruiting a Postdoctoral Scholar in experimental plasma physics.

■ Duties
- Lead the development, commissioning and operation of KAIMIR, a linear magnetic-mirror fusion device. Work spans RF plasma source development, plasma instability studies and control, fast-ion physics, plasma diagnostics and instrumentation, transport, and data analysis and modelling.

■ Who can apply
- A PhD in plasma physics, fusion science, nuclear engineering or a closely related field, with a strong publication record. Experimental plasma physics is preferred, though computational and modelling backgrounds are also welcome. The posting is entirely in English and states no Korean requirement.

■ Terms
- Initial 2-year appointment, renewable. The posting states pay of roughly USD 35,000-65,000 per year depending on qualifications and experience.
