■ About the team
You would join the AI research department of the cancer screening group, working alongside AI research scientists and engineers on both real-world products and applied research. Current projects span foundation models, language models, large-scale self-supervised learning, domain generalisation, agentic AI, ML pipelines, risk prediction and image quality assessment. The team publishes, blogs, releases datasets and runs public machine-learning challenges.

■ Roles and responsibilities
- Lead research on AI models advancing Lunit's products and the state of the art in medical image analysis
- Work closely with medical doctors, product managers and research engineers on new projects
- Translate technology into clinical practice
- Contribute hands-on across the full research lifecycle — data cleaning, pipeline management, codebase structuring — and give technical guidance to junior members

■ Qualifications
- 5+ years of research experience in machine learning, in academia or industry, preferably in computer vision, medical image analysis or NLP
- Master's or doctorate in computer science, biomedical engineering, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering or a related field
- Solid grounding in contemporary machine learning and image analysis, and the related packages (deep neural nets, PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience designing ML-based software systems and deploying them to production
- Ability to communicate in Korean
- Strong interest in medical problems and in advancing the standard of care with AI
- Analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and proactive about sharing knowledge

■ Preferred
- 7+ years of research experience including 2+ in industry (e.g. PhD plus 2 years, or Master's plus 5 years)
- Solid experience with Git, Python, unit and integration testing, multithreading, and practices such as agentic AI
- Experience with medical image data, and contributions to open-source computer vision or ML repositories
- Familiarity with recent AI research — LLMs, Stable Diffusion, Vision Transformers, self-supervised learning
- First-author papers at CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, NeurIPS/ICLR/MedIA/TMI/MICCAI, or in translational journals such as Nature Medicine, JAMA or Lancet Digital Health
- Participation in computer vision or medical imaging challenges
