Andong mask festival runs for 11 days from 24 September

Korea's best known mask dance festival opens next week in Andong, in North Gyeongsang Province.

Date: Thursday 24 September to Sunday 4 October 2026
Place: Andong Station area, Mask Dance Park and the old town centre, Andong
Price: Free to walk around. Some performances and hands-on programmes cost extra.
Booking: Not needed for the festival grounds
Good for: Friends, couples and families

What you can do there, as the organiser lists it:

• Watch mask dance groups from Korea and other countries
• See the mask dance procession through the town
• Watch the evening performance under the lanterns
• Try making a mask yourself

Getting there: Andong Station is one of the festival venues, so the train drops you at the door. From Seoul, Cheongnyangni Station has direct trains.

One warning. The organiser has not published 2026 ticket prices for the indoor performance hall, and the tourism site says the grounds are free. If you want a seat at a paid show, ask at the ticket desk on the day instead of trusting older prices online.
