Busan film festival: how to find films with English subtitles

The 31st Busan International Film Festival opens in October, and booking is already open.

Date: Tuesday 6 to Thursday 15 October 2026
Place: Busan Cinema Center and other cinemas in Busan
Price: Paid. The festival has not published prices on its website, so check the ticket catalogue on the site.
Booking: Yes, at biff.maketicket.co.kr. There is a separate English booking page for people without a Korean resident number.
Good for: Friends, couples and anyone who likes film

How to find a film you can follow, using the official schedule page:

• No subtitle mark means Korean dialogue with English subtitles
• KE means Korean and English subtitles, or English dialogue
• KK means Korean subtitles and Korean dialogue, with no English
• KN means Korean subtitles and dialogue in another language, with no English

So look for films with no mark or with KE.

Other rules from the organiser: you can book a maximum of 2 tickets for each screening, and you can cancel up to 60 minutes before the screening, with a fee. Unsold and returned tickets go on sale at the festival box offices during the festival.
