ChatGroups: your own group chat on Waegook

Waegook now has ChatGroups: group chats for your community, club, class or event, right inside Waegook.

What it is
A group chat with its own share link. Anyone with a verified email can join from the link. The member who opens the group is the host.

What you can use it for

• Events: share directions, the dress code and last-minute changes with every guest at once, answer questions once for everyone, and collect photos after the day.
• Communities and clubs: a church, a football team, a language exchange, the people in your city.
• Classes and study groups.
• Staying in touch: the group stays open, so your next event reaches the same people.

Why use it on Waegook

• Join as yourself, or with a nickname that only this group sees.
• When you send a photo, you choose who sees it: everyone, only the host, or people you pick.
• The host can pin up to 5 important messages, ask new members up to 3 questions before they join, and remove anyone who misbehaves.
• Tag a message with up to two words starting with a hash sign, then find it later in the Tags tab.
• Replies, reactions, @mentions and "Read by" work like the chat apps you know.

How to start one

Members who finished Level 2 verification (phone or admin check) can host up to 5 groups. Open Messages, tap ChatGroups, then Create a group. Share the link on KakaoTalk, WhatsApp or anywhere.
