Free classes for foreign residents this autumn, and when to apply

Seoul's centres for foreign residents are running free classes and checks this autumn. Places are small and most close in the next two weeks.

Cooking, Wednesdays in October. Four Korean cooking sessions in Yangcheon, free, 20 places. Apply by 29 September. See the event

Make a Hangeul leather keyring, 16 October. Free, 20 places, in Yongsan. Apply by phone by 30 September. See the event

Free tuberculosis check, 14 October. A mobile chest X-ray in Geumcheon, 30 places. Apply by 2 October. See the event

AI storybook video workshop, October. Three sessions, either Sundays or Fridays, 15 places, taught in Korean. Apply by 9 October. See the event

ITQ Word certificate class, Sundays from 11 October. Eight classes, free, but you buy the textbook. Only 9 places. Apply by 9 October. See the event

Yongsan History Museum tour, 29 September. Free, 16 places, but applications close 23 September at 17:00 and the guiding is Korean and Japanese only. See the event

Two things to know. Most of these classes are taught in Korean, and each event page says so where the centre states it. And you apply by phone or in person for several of them, not online.

Next step: pick one, open the event page for the phone number, and call this week. Small classes fill before the closing date.
