Minimum wage 2027: 10,700 won an hour

Korea's minimum wage goes up on 1 January 2027.

The 2027 rates
  • 10,700 won an hour. That is 380 won (3.7%) more than 10,320 won in 2026.
  • 85,600 won for an 8-hour day.
  • 2,236,300 won a month, based on 209 hours.

The rate applies from 1 January to 31 December 2027. It was officially announced on 5 August 2026.

About the monthly figure
The 2,236,300 won is the official figure for 209 hours a month. Your real monthly pay depends on your hours and your contract, so look at the hourly rate first.

Next step: if you are offered a job that runs into 2027, check that the hourly pay from January is at least 10,700 won, and ask for the pay details in writing.
