Two free certificates you can print online: registration proof and entry/exit record

Offices, banks and schools in Korea often ask foreign residents for official papers. Two of the most common can be printed online for free on Government24 (정부24, gov.kr).

1. Proof of foreign registration (외국인등록 사실증명)
Shows your foreign registration details.

• Online: free.
• In person: 2,000 won a copy, at an immigration office or a community centre (주민센터).
• Someone else can get it for you in person with a letter of authorisation, but not online.

2. Entry and exit record (출입국에 관한 사실증명)
Shows when you entered and left Korea. It is often needed for pension, tax and immigration matters.

• Online: free.
• In person: 2,000 won a copy, issued on the spot, at an immigration office or a local government office.
• Online requests must be made by yourself.

Tips

• Search the Korean name on Government24 to find the service quickly.
• Log in first. You will need a way to verify your identity.
• Some offices want a paper copy, others accept a PDF. Ask before you go.
