What do I need?
- High school diploma, or certificate of expected graduation
- High school transcript
- Passport copies for you and both parents
- An official document showing your relationship to your parents
- Korean-origin applicants only: certificate of entry and exit, primary and middle school diplomas and transcripts, proof of loss of Korean nationality
- Optional: an English test report, honours and awards, a high school profile, a recommendation letter, a standardised test score report
The fee is 50,000 won, for the document review only. It is not refunded and cannot be waived.

All requirements
- You finish high school by the registration deadline
- You hold foreign citizenship and neither parent is Korean, or you are of Korean origin and did all of primary, middle and high school outside Korea
- Korean citizens, including dual citizens, cannot apply as international students
- A GED, homeschooling or an online-course qualification is NOT accepted. School cyber learning during COVID is, with an explanation
- There is no transfer route: everyone enters as a first-year student
- A foreign student at a Korean high school can apply. An international school in Korea does not count as a foreign school
- You apply on studyinkorea.go.kr. DGIST gives the window only as early December to late January; exact dates are in its 2027 guide
- You may accept only one university offer: holding two gets the admission revoked. Admission cannot be deferred, and missing the interview disqualifies you
- All lectures, basic science and major courses included, are in English. Some general electives are in Korean or English
- Every international student also gets 328,500 won a month in financial aid and 330,000 a month (DGISTep) while keeping at least 10 credits, plus a 500,000 won settlement grant once
- A high GPA earns a further 1,500,000 won a semester (DGISTep-S), from your second semester
