Official figures from the source page on the date checked. Estimates are Waegook's. Unknown is shown as not published, never as zero.
What do I need?
- Passport copy. Application form with self-introduction and study plan (school forms, 2027 version)
- High school graduation (or expected) certificate and transcript, and junior college or university certificates where held, with verification: CHSI, or apostille, or Korean consular legalisation. Transcript showing GPA and scale
- Nationality and family proof of you and your parents, notarised with English translation: passports or nationality certificates, family relation or birth certificate. For China: a 호구부 copy including all family members, English translation
- Printed ([참고 2]): 고려인 living in Russia, Uzbekistan or Kazakhstan file an official paper proving that status; divorced or deceased parents, the government certificate; a relative as guarantor, a government paper proving the relationship
- Financial papers: parents' employment and income certificates, originals with English translations, and the bank balance certificate (see the notes)
- Three colour photos 3.5 cm x 4.5 cm, white background, name written on the back. Residents in Korea: alien registration card copy, front and back
THE BANK BALANCE IS KRW 8,000,000 (USD 6,000) OR MORE, in your own or the guarantor's name, issued within 30 days of the application date, or a domestic remittance or exchange certificate.
A certificate with a validity period is accepted to that date, but only if issued within 6 months of the application deadline ([참고 3]).
Printed for named countries, copied as the guide prints it: "베트남 유학생의 경우 유학경비예치금확인서 제출 (단, 우리은행, 하나은행에서 발릅한 서류만 인정)" and "우즈벡학생의 경우 KDB 산업은행 예치금확인서만 인정".
In English: Vietnamese students file a study-expense deposit confirmation, accepted only from Woori Bank or Hana Bank; Uzbek students only a KDB Industrial Bank deposit confirmation.
Application fee 100,000 won; not refunded once received, except part or all (less the 원서접수 수수료) when a disaster, illness or accident not of your making stops you from sitting the screening.
TUITION: no figure in the 2027 guide. The undated admissions page prints 5,000,000 won for a 40-week course (600 hours) and "생활관 및 식사 : 1,400,000원" (dormitory and meals, no period). Treat these as unconfirmed.
The same undated page waives the application fee for Woosuk graduates or students and for students taking 2 consecutive semesters, and prints an older bank rule of US $3,000; the 2027 guide's 8,000,000 won rule is the one in force.
The school's English Korean-course page (undated) prints different figures again: tuition 3,600,000 won for 2 semesters, room and board 1,500,000 won for 1 semester, insurance and visa fee 150,000 won, and a US $9,000 bank statement. Unconfirmed: ask.
NO DORMITORY FEE IS PRINTED in the guide. Capacity: Jeonju campus 우석헌 1,500 beds (office 생활관, +82-63-290-1795 to 1798); Jincheon campus 우석헌 232 beds and 학사마을 252 beds (office 기숙사, +82-43-531-2911, 2912).
Admitted expected graduates file the graduation certificate with the institute later. The institute may ask for papers beyond this list (guide p.7).

All requirements
- Foreign students whose parents are both foreign nationals, who graduated (or are graduating) from a high school abroad after the full course equal to Korean primary and secondary school
- Four 2027 intakes (guide): regular course from 8 March 2027 (300 hours, levels 1 to 3); special course from 5 July 2027 (150 hours, levels 1 to 2); regular from 6 September 2027; special from 3 January 2028
- The guide heads the summer intake "6월 입학" and the winter one "12월 입학" (the names of the intakes); its classes run from July and January as above. Dates may change (guide note)
- How to apply: download the 2027 application form from the institute site and file ORIGINAL papers at the institute by visit or post within the window. No online portal, no interview is printed
- Results go on the institute website on the printed date, marked tentative (예정) for every intake, with no individual notice ("개별 통지 없음, 국외체류자만 해당"). Then pay tuition, apply on the visa portal, arrive at Incheon 09:00 to 15:00
- TUITION IS NOT PRINTED in the 2027 guide or the 2026 guide. An undated institute page prints 5,000,000 won for a "40주 과정(총 600시간)" inside a 6,500,000 won remittance total; its course lengths differ from the 2027 guide. Ask
- Hours a week are not printed in the 2027 guide. Undated pages disagree: the course page says two 15-week semesters a year at 20 hours a week, levels 1 to 6; the admissions page says a 20-week course at 16 hours a week
- Minimum number of terms, visa type and D-4 rules: not printed in the 2027 guide. An undated rules page: a completion certificate needs 80% attendance and 70 points; 10 or more days of unexcused absence can mean expulsion with no refund
- Going on to a Woosuk degree: 3 or more semesters of this regular course count as TOPIK 3 for graduate entry (2027 graduate guide, school rule article 3); the undergraduate guide names WOW-TOPIK 3 and King Sejong levels
- Insurance: the undated facilities page says students must take out accident insurance. Students of the regular course get a student card and library access (undated page)
