Who can apply
- New international students of the General Graduate School, Samcheok campus (Spring 2027 guide, first semester only). Only scores filed before the award is set count; the deadline comes by e-mail
- Overseas Korean award: students who enter through the overseas Korean domestic education partner programme
- As printed (p.79): TOPIK 4 can be replaced by finishing the level 5 class of Kangwon's Korean course
- Also printed: FIRST-KNU scholars get full 등록금 for the first semester with injury insurance. Kangwon's scholarship rules (1 October 2026) say a future adviser recommends them; ask applyknu@kangwon.ac.kr
- Those rules also give English-track scores: IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 94 (5.0) for the TOPIK 5 line, IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 86 (4.5) for the TOPIK 4 line; the guide prints TOPIK only: ask
- Later: 6 credits, GPA 3.5 and TOPIK 4 (English IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 86 (4.5)): all of Tuition 2, within the budget
- Every award also needs the accident insurance the guide makes compulsory for all entrants
