Who can apply

• New international freshmen and year 3 transfers (Fall 2026 guide, the newest). Paid for up to 8 semesters (transfers 4). Amounts and method may change with the budget
• Merit awards need TOPIK 3 in year 1 and TOPIK 4 from year 2 (TOPIK 3 for arts and physical education). Below that, you must take the Korean course IALE names
• How many hours: the office notice of 24 July 2026 says 300 hours a year, at least 150 of them within 6 months of entry. The guide's table, which that notice also attaches, says 300 hours a semester. Ask the office which counts
• The same notice says students who have finished their coursework (수료생) and students in an extra semester cannot apply for the merit award
• Departments that check English at entry and teach 50% or more in English are excepted from the TOPIK condition; the guide names none
• Tuition is billed in two parts. "Tuition 2" is the larger one: for example 1,837,100 of the 2,209,000 won humanities and social band (official 2026 fee table)
• The scholarship web page (revised 2024-02-26) adds: 12 credits or more in the previous semester (9 in year 4, semester 1), no award under GPA 3.0, after an immigration law breach, or when an outside scholarship pays everything
