Sogang ranks every admitted international student by admission score: the top 1% study free for eight semesters, and the top half get at least 10% off the first semester. Language scores and grades earn more.

- International students admitted to Sogang as new or transfer undergraduates
- Language awards go to high scorers who also rank well in the admission evaluation
- Excellence I and II continue only with 12 credits and a GPA of 2.80 out of 4.30 in the previous semester
- The final selection is made by the international office's review
- A student who takes Korean nationality after entering is no longer counted as international and can lose the award
- For iBT TOEFL taken on or after 21 January 2026, the score in brackets applies
