The school does not publish what a year costs to live, so we cannot say what share is left for you. We will not put a figure there until it does.
Read the official page →Official figures from the source page on the date checked. Estimates are Waegook's. Unknown is shown as not published, never as zero.
Who can apply
- You are newly admitted to UIC as an international student
- You are a non-Korean with non-Korean parents. If you or either parent holds Korean citizenship as well, the International Students Track is closed to you
- Recipients are picked on academic record, from the admission file
- You hold a grade average each semester to keep it the next one. UIC does not publish the figure

What do I need?
- A printed copy of the application form you filled in online Sample form
- The Letter of Consent and Verification PDF
- The same Letter of Consent as a Word file, if you would rather type into it DOCX
- Official transcripts from every high school you attended, legalised
- Your certificate of graduation, or of expected graduation, legalised
- Proof of English: a TOEFL, IELTS, CEFR, IB DP English A or AP English score with no minimum, or a diploma from a country where English is the only official language, or a Medium of Instruction certificate
- A copy of your passport or ID card, and one of each parent's
- A notarised copy of your birth certificate, or other notarised proof of the relationship with your parents
- If you already live in Korea: your own and your parents' Certification of Alien Registration
- If you are ethnically Korean: proof that you and your parents gave up Korean citizenship
- If you hold Chinese nationality: notarised copies of the two family-relationship documents UIC names
- Recommended, not required: score reports for exams such as SAT, ACT, GCE A Level, IB, AP, Gao Kao or Matura, and a list of any honours or awards not on your transcript
From the 2027 intake, proof of English is required. Until 2026 it was optional, and UIC lists this as a key change.
Anything not in English needs a notarised English translation. Documents must be originals unless the guide says otherwise; a photocopy needs the issuing school's seal or notarisation.
Apostille only works if your school's country signed the Hague Convention. For Africa and the Middle East UIC's 2025 list is Algeria, South Africa, Botswana, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Eswatini, Lesotho, Liberia, Namibia, Sao Tome and Principe, Malawi, Seychelles, Oman, Israel, Bahrain, Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, Saudi Arabia and Rwanda. From anywhere else the Korean Embassy or Consulate certifies them instead.
If the legalisation is running late, UIC accepts those documents after you are accepted, by a date it sets.
Applying and getting the paper there are two deadlines. For Spring 2027 the online form closes at 5PM on 22 September 2026 and the documents must ARRIVE at the UIC office by 5PM on 2 October. UIC says it will not extend either.
Nothing you send is returned, and the fee is not refunded, including when you applied on the wrong track by mistake.
The application form itself asks for personal and family details, your school history, your grades, and two essays of 600 and 300 words.
