How to sign up for TOPIK
For anyone whose first language is not Korean. Used for university admission and graduation, jobs, stay visas such as permanent residency, and the government scholarship (GKS). A score is valid for two years from the results day.
- 1Open the TOPIK sign-up system on topik.go.kr (시험접수) during the sign-up days
- 2Log in. Make an account before sign-up day so you are not held up
- 3Choose the test and the level: TOPIK I or TOPIK II
- 4Enter your details
- 5Choose a test centre
- 6Upload your photo and check your details. topik.go.kr shows the photo rules
- 7Pay the test fee
- 8Your sign-up is complete
- IBT is taken on a computer, PBT on paper. The speaking test is a separate sitting.
- These dates are for sitting the test in Korea. Abroad, dates differ: ask the local test agency.
- Results come out at 15:00 on topik.go.kr on the results day.

Log inHow to sign up for KIIP
Open to any immigrant who wants it. Korean language and culture classes (levels 0 to 4) and understanding Korean society (level 5), with assessments set by the Ministry of Justice, up to the ones for permanent residency and for naturalisation.
- 1Make an account on Socinet (socinet.go.kr) and apply for KIIP. It is online only
- 2Get your level. The pre-assessment (사전평가) places you
- 3Watch Socinet for course notices
- 4Apply for a course at an operating institution in the area where you live
- 5Levels 0 to 3: Korean language and culture, with level assessments at the institution
- 6Level 4, then the Ministry's mid-term assessment (중간평가)
- 7Level 5 basic course, then the assessment for permanent residency (영주용 종합평가)
- 8Level 5 advanced course, then the assessment for naturalisation (귀화용 종합평가)
- Sign-up for each assessment is on Socinet, on the days shown.
- Arrive by 12:30 on the assessment day.
