About the D-4 visa
Language study or non-degree training programmes.
Who it is for
- Language-study visa from a Korean mission A language institute attached to a university, high-school graduation, and proof of tuition and living costs. Balance certificates must be recent: within 30 days.
- Change of status from a long-term visa Registered long-term residents may change to a language-study status, with proof of funds and a study plan.
- Direct visa at a certified university Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Uzbek students can be issued a visa directly when the language institute belongs to a certified or excellent-certified university.
- Certificate of admission required for your nationality Nationals of Syria, North Macedonia and Kosovo are issued this visa only through a certificate of admission that the school obtains: never applied for directly at a mission. Allow extra time.
- Foreign-language training while still at school Foreign-language training is open to students who have not yet finished high school: the graduation requirement applies to Korean-language study, not to this sub-category.
- Certificate of admission required at this university tier For Chinese, Vietnamese, Mongolian and Uzbek students, a language course at a general or lower-tier university is issued only through a certificate of admission obtained by the school.
What the check asks
The check asks 9 questions, for example: Where are you applying from, Where would you study Korean, What status do you hold in Korea right now, Have you completed high school. Your answers are never stored.
Documents a result can list
The result lists the documents for your route. Depending on your answers, they include:
- Application form, passport and a standard photo
- Certificate of admission from the language institute
- The institution's business registration certificate
- Proof of high-school graduation or above
- Proof of tuition and living costs
- Study plan
- Application form (No. 34), passport, residence card and the fee
- Proof you are enrolled
- Proof you are studying normally
- Financial evidence
