About the E-7 visa
Employer-sponsored professional work visa covering designated occupations.
Who it is for
- Master's degree in a related field The manual's first general route: a master's degree or higher in a field related to the designated occupation.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 1+ year of experience The second general route. Experience counts only from after the degree or qualification was obtained.
- 5+ years of experience in a related field The third general route: no degree requirement, but five years of relevant work.
- E-7-4 · E-7-4 skilled worker: scored under its own points system The skilled-worker track is decided by its own points table (숙련기능인력 점수제) covering income, Korean ability, age, training and related factors: a different test from the degree and experience routes...
- Bachelor's degree or higher earned in Korea Graduates of Korean universities may be hired into a permitted occupation regardless of major, and the 1-year experience requirement is waived.
- Associate degree from a Korean college, in a related field For Korean junior-college graduates entering an occupation related to their major, the experience requirement is waived.
- Salary of 3× per-capita GNI or more A high salary can waive the education and experience requirements that would otherwise apply to you.
- Ministry-recommended specialist, salary 1.5× GNI or more With a recommendation from the competent central government ministry and pay of at least 1.5× per-capita GNI, education and experience can both be waived (67 professional occupations).
- 1+ year at a Fortune Global 500 company May be permitted even without meeting the occupation's stated education and experience requirements, where the need to hire is recognised.
What the check asks
The check asks 9 questions, for example: Where are you applying from, Do you have a job offer from a Korean employer, What kind of role is it, What is your highest completed degree. Your answers are never stored.
Documents a result can list
The result lists the documents for your route. Depending on your answers, they include:
- Passport copy and a colour photo
- Employment contract
- Degree certificate
- Employer: incorporation and business documents
- Application form (No. 34), passport and residence card, and the fee
- Employment contract (current term)
- Personal income proof (mandatory)
- Employer business registration copy or corporate register
- Proof of where you live
- Employer tax-payment certificates
