Researchers and Postdocs Across 15 Fields (Announcement in English) — IBS Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (Ulsan)

The Institute for Basic Science is running an open recruitment across 15 research fields for its Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences. All three centres sit on the UNIST campus in Ulsan. The whole announcement is published in English.

■ Duties
- Research in one of the three centres. The Center for Multidimensional Carbon Materials covers carbon and related materials, computational studies of carbon, and electrochemical synthesis, along with nano spectroscopy and imaging. The Center for Algorithmic and Robotized Synthesis covers AI-driven synthesis and organic chemistry. The Center for Genomic Integrity covers genomic integrity, organic chemistry, molecular cancer research, chromosome replication, and molecular and cellular biology.

■ Who can apply
- For Senior Researcher and Researcher posts, a doctorate, or a bachelor's degree or above for some Researcher roles, held by 1 December 2026. For Postdoctoral Research Associate posts, within five years of the doctorate, or expecting it within three months of appointment. Recruitment is blind, so gender and age are excluded from the assessment. Duplicate applications are not allowed. No language requirement is stated.

■ Terms
- Senior Researcher and Researcher contracts can be renewed once, to a maximum of five years. Postdoctoral contracts run to a maximum of three years. Salary follows the IBS payroll rules with a pay band applied. The start is 1 December 2026, negotiable to 1 March 2027.
