A free gimbap festival in Gimcheon, 23 to 25 October

Gimcheon holds a whole festival for gimbap, the rice rolls sold in every corner shop.

Date: Friday 23 to Sunday 25 October 2026, 10:00 to 17:00
Place: Jikji Culture Park and Samyeongdaesa Park, Gimcheon, North Gyeongsang Province
Price: Free to enter, as the tourism listing states. Food and rides are paid.
Booking: No entry booking has been announced
Good for: Families and friends

What you can do there, from the organiser's programme:

• Watch gimbap being made on a production line, and join in
• Taste unusual gimbap gathered from around the country
• Make your own roll with the fillings you choose
• Let children use the sledding slope, the air bounce and the gimbap maze

Getting there: Gimcheon City is running shuttle buses from Seoul Station, Jamsil and Sadang, booked in the Kakao T app under the shuttle menu. There is no web booking page and fares were not published when we checked.

Two warnings. The festival was very crowded last year, so go early in the day. The organiser has not yet published the 2026 timetable, stage line-up or site map, so check the site again the week before you travel.
