What do I need?
- Application form with self-introduction and study plan (apply online, then send the printout; foreign graduates write the university's official English name)
- Letter of recommendation (attachment 1); advisor's written opinion (attachment 2, if an advisor is chosen); request for academic records (attachment 3, applicants who studied abroad)
- Degree certificates: Korean universities, the original (PhD: bachelor's and master's). Elsewhere outside China: a notarised translation with an apostille or consular confirmation
- Universities in China: the CHSI online verification report of the degree certificate and the final degree (graduation) certificate
- Transcripts for every year (PhD: bachelor's and master's), including the last semester, in Korean or English, showing GPA or percentage. Transfer students add the transcripts of both schools
- Language proof (see the requirements); expired scores are refused
- Nationality papers: colour copies of the passport or national ID of you and both parents, and family relation papers (non-Chinese nationals: family relation or birth certificate; Chinese nationals: kinship certificate or hukou)
- If a parent's papers cannot be filed (divorce, remarriage, death and so on), a government-issued paper proving it (for example a divorce certificate, single-parent certificate or death certificate)
- Bank balance certificate (see the notes). Applicants in Korea add both sides of the alien registration card (visa valid 3 months or more) and, if living off campus, the housing contract at the same address
THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE, in principle in your own name. Chosun University Korean course students, undergraduates and master's students: 8,000,000 won. Issued within 1 month (in Korea) or 3 months (abroad) of the deadline.
Students funded by a university or their embassy (tuition and living costs) may file a financial guarantee from the university president instead. If your advisor is your financial guarantor, the advisor files two school forms.

ENTRANCE FEE 727,000 WON, once, for master's and PhD, on top of tuition (printed as its own column).
Tuition is paid into your own virtual account on 11 to 15 January 2027 (planned); the bill comes by e-mail. Visa papers are e-mailed after payment. Full refund if you withdraw by 19 February 2027.
Final admits must hand in the legalised, translated final diploma by the registration period, or no admission letter is issued. Korean university graduates hand in the diploma by 19 February 2027.
Applicants abroad apply for a D-2 visa at the Korean embassy (passport valid 2 years or more); applicants in Korea change or extend status through the International Affairs Team after paying.
Even with an admission letter, the admission is cancelled if the embassy or immigration office does not issue, extend or change the student visa. Papers are not returned: keep spare copies for the visa.
Dormitory, a semester (2026 second-semester rates): Glocal Baekhak Hall 812,000 double, 1,218,000 single; Global House 954,000 double, 1,431,000 single; Green Village 812,000 double (men and women).
Meals are compulsory at Glocal Baekhak Hall and Global House: 315,000 won (75 meals) or 585,000 won (150 meals). Green Village has a kitchen. Orientation 17 February and 3 March 2027; classes 2 March 2027.
You apply for the dormitory when you hand in the application papers; if the halls are full you get no place. Bring your own duvet, pillow and bed cover.
Health insurance: about 77,000 won a month (2025 basis), from alien registration.

All requirements
- You and both parents hold foreign nationality on 19 October 2026 (the opening day). Not eligible: you or a parent is a dual national including Korean, or a parent holds Korean nationality through naturalisation
- MASTER'S AND INTEGRATED MASTER'S-PhD: a bachelor's degree from a regular university in Korea or abroad, held or expected by February 2027, or an equal qualification recognised by law
- PhD: a master's degree from a regular graduate school in Korea or abroad, held or expected by February 2027, or an equal qualification recognised by law
- LANGUAGE, one of: TOPIK 3 or King Sejong Institute intermediate 2 or higher (arts and physical education: TOPIK 2); "TOEFL 530(CBT 197, iBT 71), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 600점(NEW TEPS 326점)" or higher, as printed;
- or Chosun University Korean course intermediate 2 or higher completed; or level 3 or higher in the CSU Korean test; or a "Confirmation of Academic Capability" written by your advisor (form on the notice)
- Nationals of a country where English is the native or official language may use proof of higher education instead of an English score; the guide lists: 미국, 영국, 캐나다, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 남아공, 아일랜드
- Official scores are valid 2 years from the test date and must be valid on the paper deadline. The guide prints iBT 71 and no 1 to 6 band score: ask. Applying without an official score shuts you out of the Excellence scholarship
- ENGLISH-TAUGHT DEPARTMENTS: none is named. English scores are accepted for every department, but to complete the degree you must hand in TOPIK 4 or higher (with the exam exemption form) or pass the graduate Korean course
- Apply once: if you apply more than once in the same round, only the last application stands. The department and the dormitory choice cannot be changed after the window closes
- An advisor must agree: the papers go in with the advisor's approval and written opinion. If no advisor is finally chosen, you fail. Choose the department and level (master's, PhD, integrated) with the advisor
- Selection: the department reviews your papers, self-introduction and study plan included. No interview date is printed
- Credits: master's 24, PhD 36, integrated 60, plus a research ethics course, a comprehensive exam (70 out of 100) and a thesis. At most 9 credits a semester
- Some departments are joint or institute-industry programmes and do not allow a change of department (marked in the majors list). A non-thesis master's exists in some departments; whether your country recognises it may differ
- Also printed: a staff family award (Chosun staff, hospital staff included, spouses and children: 50% or 33% of 수업료) and a family award (two or more family members in the general graduate school: 33% of 수업료, all but one)
- TUITION FOR THIS ROW: Engineering band: master's 5,532,000, PhD 6,178,000. Fall 2026 rate (guide); 2027 not printed. Entrance fee 727,000 once.
