What can I study?

Published by Chungbuk National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Online application at Jinhak Apply and the graduate checklist (Form 1) Apply
• Statement of purpose and study plan (Form 1-1)
• Consent to access academic records (Form 2)
• Affidavit of financial support (Form 3, 3-2 or 3-3) and a bank balance certificate of 16,000,000 won
• Recommendation from your previous university adviser
• Reference from your prospective Chungbuk adviser (Form 3-1), uploaded to the application
• Bachelor's degree or expected-graduation certificate and full transcript, apostilled or consular-verified; a PhD applicant adds the master's
• Proof of your parents' nationality and your family relationship
• Copy of your passport (Uzbek applicants: international passport), and your residence card if you live in Korea
• Language certificate, valid until the term starts
• Fine Arts and Design: portfolio of up to 10 pieces in an A4 binder, with Form 4

THE ORIGINALS MUST ARRIVE by post or by hand during the application window. For fall 2026 that was 11 to 22 May, with a late window to 26 June only if originals could not be sent in time.

SPRING 2027 DATES ARE NOT OUT YET. For spring 2026 the window was 13 to 24 October 2025.

The fee is 50,000 won (USD 50).

BANK BALANCE: 16,000,000 won. In Korea: your own Korean account. From abroad: yours or a parent's. A guarantee from your adviser (Form 3-2) or Chungbuk (Form 3-3) can stand in.

All requirements

• You and both parents are non-Korean and you finished schooling equivalent to Korea's
• A bachelor's for a master's or combined programme; a master's for a PhD. Expected graduates may apply
• CONTACT A PROFESSOR FIRST. Chungbuk requires a reference from your prospective adviser (Form 3-1); for fall 2026 the contact deadline was the first day of applications
• Language: TOPIK 3, or TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or TEPS 600, or citizenship of the USA, UK, Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia or Ireland, or your adviser's reference
• Documents only, 100%, with no interview by the international office. Departments may still talk to you
• To graduate you will need TOPIK 4, or TOEFL iBT 69, IELTS 6.0, TEPS 600 or TOEIC 650
• Chungbuk accepts English to apply. Ask your department which language it teaches in
