What can I study?

Published by Chungbuk National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Online application at Jinhak Apply and the graduate checklist (Form 1)
• Statement of purpose and study plan (Form 1-1)
• Consent to access academic records (Form 2)
• Affidavit of financial support (Form 3, 3-2 or 3-3) and a bank balance certificate of 16,000,000 won
• Recommendation from your previous university adviser (if they cannot, from the department head or the international office)
• Reference from your prospective Chungbuk adviser (Form 3-1), uploaded to the application
• Bachelor's degree or expected-graduation certificate and full transcript, apostilled or consular-verified (China: CHSI reports). Two originals if you need a visa
• Proof of your parents' nationality and your family relationship, issued within 6 months
• Copy of your passport, and your residence card if you live in Korea
• Language certificate for your track, valid until the semester starts

THE ORIGINALS MUST ARRIVE by post or by hand at the Office of International Affairs (N10, room 151): by 6 Nov 2026 (round 1) or 11 Dec 2026 (round 2), 18:00. Without them you are not screened.

The fee is 50,000 won (USD 50).

BANK BALANCE: 16,000,000 won. From abroad: yours or a parent's, by 25 Jan (round 1) or 3 Feb 2027 (round 2). In Korea with a visa: your own Korean account, filed 25 to 29 Jan 2027. An adviser (Form 3-2) or Chungbuk (Form 3-3) guarantee can stand in.

Expected graduates send the final degree certificate and transcript by the end of February 2027, or the admission is cancelled.

Language scores must still be valid after 2 March 2027. A final Chungbuk Korean Language Program completion certificate may follow in February.

Originals plus a translation, or notarised originals. Email, copies and faxes are not accepted.

All requirements

• You and both parents are non-Korean and you finished schooling equivalent to Korea's, or you did all your schooling, university included, abroad
• A bachelor's degree, or one you will hold before the semester starts. Spring 2027 takes master's students only, with no PhD or combined course
• Global Education runs Korean, English and Chinese tracks; Convergence Software runs English and Chinese tracks. Over half of the English and Chinese track credits are taught in that language
• English track: TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS 601 or New TEPS 327, or citizenship of one of the 7 English-speaking countries listed in the guide
• Chinese track: you and both parents are foreign nationals, Mandarin is your native language, and you hold TOPIK 3 or a Chungbuk Korean course completion certificate before admission
• Korean track (Global Education): TOPIK 3, or level 4 of Chungbuk's Korean Language Program, enrolled in its term just before admission
• CONTACT A PROFESSOR FIRST (mandatory): by 12 Oct 2026, 18:00 for round 1 or 23 Nov 2026, 18:00 for round 2. Their reference (Form 3-1) is uploaded with the application
• Documents only, 100%: your grades, statement of purpose, study plan and recommendations. No interview by the international office
• English track scholarship, first semester: about 80% off with TOEFL iBT 95, IELTS 7 or New TEPS 427; 40% with iBT 80, IELTS 6.5 or New TEPS 347; 15% for every other new student
• To graduate you will need TOPIK 4, or TOEFL iBT 69, IELTS 6.0, TEPS 600, New TEPS 327 or TOEIC 650
• Any language certificate must be valid until the first semester begins.
