All requirements
- Foreigners and overseas Koreans with high school graduation or equivalent (12 years or more of regular schooling)
- Two application windows per term: one for Chinese-speaking countries and one for all other countries (see each term). Some countries may close early because visa times differ
- Documents by post or in person only, no e-mail, for the main list. The same page gives Chinese nationals a separate list whose papers are scanned and e-mailed to the centre instead
- Apply online first (the D-4 page says online application is required), then make sure every paper, originals included, ARRIVES at the centre by the deadline
- Visa holders already in Korea may have different deadlines; ask the centre (+82-42-821-8816 for most countries; the page gives separate lines for some regions; [email protected])
- Completing a level needs a score of 60 or more and 80% attendance. Three warnings in total or 10 days in a row of unexcused absence can lead to expulsion
- D-4-1 students may work part time only after 6 months, with permission: up to 20 (or 25) hours a week with TOPIK 2 or higher, otherwise 10. A D-4 extension costs a 60,000 won revenue stamp. Minimum number of terms: not printed
- Refunds: full tuition before or on the first day; two thirds before a third of class days; half before half; nothing after. You can cancel only before entering Korea; bank fees on payments and refunds are yours
- Awards each term by class rank, paid in weeks 9 to 10 of the next term if you re-enrol: 400,000 won (95+ and 1st), 200,000 (90+ and 2nd), 100,000 (85+ and 3rd). Not for voluntary repeaters, exchange or government scholars
- Dormitory: 1,400,000 won for about 3 months with 2 meals on weekdays, two-person rooms, first term only; new students first; money left over is returned before the term ends
- CNU degree link: level 4 completed here meets the undergraduate Korean rule for most majors (level 5 for Korean Language and Literature). 4 or more terms, including the 2 just before entry, earn a 500,000 won undergraduate award
- Insurance is compulsory for new students. The fee page (undated) says the dormitory fee may change with prices and the insurance fee may change each year
