What can I study?

Published by The Catholic University of Korea. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application printed from the online system (name and birth date as in the passport) and a study plan (school form, Korean or English)
• Degree (or expected) certificate and transcript: Korean universities originals; Chinese universities copies plus CHSI degree reports in English and an apostilled or CHSI transcript; elsewhere apostille or consular legalisation
• PhD applicants add the master's certificate and transcript. An original language score report if you have one, still valid on your round's opening day
• Your ID and passport copy (valid six months or more), alien registration card copy if you have one, and a passport or ID copy of each parent
• Family relationship proof (China: notarised family certificate; elsewhere a family relationship or birth certificate, translated if needed)
• Study-cost pledge signed by your sponsor (you, a parent or a supervisor), personal data consent and academic record check consent (school forms)
• If relevant: the Korean study plan; primary to high school certificates and transcripts (all-schooling-abroad route); an employment certificate for serving teachers seeking the special scholarship

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON OR MORE, filed by admitted students with the standard admission letter request: a Korean or foreign bank, in your or a parent's name, issued within 30 days.

Changing status in Korea after language study: the bank certificate must come from a Korean bank in your own name.

Application fee 100,000 won (Music and Art and Media Convergence voice 120,000) by transfer to the school's Woori Bank account in your own English name, within the deadline.

Fee and papers are not returned. A fee refund is possible only if a disaster, illness or accident stops you sitting the exam: claim with proof within three days of the exam date.

Entrance fee 1,129,000 won, added to the first semester. Tuition 5,453,000 (humanities) to 7,868,000 (pharmacy) a semester, 2026 rates; 2027 may change.

Giving up after paying tuition: file a withdrawal form. Full refund before the semester starts; after that, the school's refund rules apply.

Dormitory (dormitory site; the guide prints none): Stephano Hall 790,000 won (four-person) to 1,308,000 (two-person) for 16 weeks; Andrea Hall 1,508,000 to 1,680,000.

Off-campus Francesco Hall: 1,800,000 to 2,280,000 won for 16 weeks, utilities included, plus a 500,000 facility deposit paid each semester.

All requirements

• Both parents foreign nationals, OR all your schooling (primary school to university; PhD applicants through the master's) completed abroad
• Master's and integrated: a bachelor's by February 2027. PhD: a master's by February 2027. Admission is cancelled if the degree is not held before entry
• LANGUAGE, one of: TOPIK 3; King Sejong Institute intermediate 2; KIIP stage 4 or a pre-test score of 81; or TOEFL iBT 80 (4 on the scale for tests after 20 January 2026), IELTS 5.5 or New TEPS 317
• No Korean score: you are interviewed only if you file the Korean study plan (English track: an English score). The guide says anyone below TOPIK 3 takes 300 hours of Korean at the CUK institute within a year of entry, fee extra
• English track (some classes in English, English score required): Physics, Life Science, Artificial Intelligence, Information, Communication and Electronic Engineering, Pharmacy
• Nationals of English-speaking countries may be exempt from the English score, but must file an official score to get the foreigner scholarship
• Selection: documents 50 and oral exam 50; Music documents 30 and practical 70; Art and Media Convergence (voice) documents 40, oral 10, practical 50. Each department arranges its interview, online or in person
• To graduate: TOPIK 4 (arts TOPIK 3); English-track students an English score; the Chinese bilingual master's is exempt
• Not recruiting for Spring 2027: Korean History, International Studies, Law, French, Psychology, English, Japanese, Biotechnology, Energy and Environmental Engineering, Computer Engineering, Medical AI
• Also not recruiting: Living Culture, Food and Nutrition, Child Studies, Chemistry. Medical (Songeui) graduate departments are not in this guide. The start date of the semester is not printed
