A scholarship below can remove the tuition line.
What can I study?
- Counselling and English (상담·영어전공)
- Global Business (글로벌비즈니스전공)
Published by Daeshin University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form, self-introduction and study plan on the school's forms (attached forms 1 to 3, in the DOCX file), photo 3 x 4 cm attached. Written in Korean
- Recommendation letter if you have one (attached form 4; from a Korean-course teacher or a high school teacher)
- High school graduation (or expected) certificate, original, with consular confirmation or apostille and a notarised translation
- High school transcript of the whole course, original, with consular confirmation or apostille and a notarised translation
- Language proof (어학 능력 입증서류): printed as a copy of the TOPIK or DSU TOPIK score report. No other paper is named; if you qualify through KIIP, King Sejong, a Korean course or an English score, ask the institute which proof to file
- Family relation papers with a notarised translation (household register, family register and the like)
- Financial sponsor's bank balance certificate (see the notes), and the sponsor's income certificate and employment certificate with notarised translations
- Proof of health insurance for international students: National Health Insurance or private insurance covering illness; a home-country policy bought for the study period in Korea is accepted
- YEAR-3 TRANSFERS (transfer guide p.6): instead of the high school papers, the former college's graduation (or completion) certificate and transcript, originals, consular confirmation or apostille plus a notarised translation
- Transfers: the optional recommendation may come from a Korean-course teacher or a professor at the former college (transfer guide p.6)
BANK BALANCE, as printed: a bank deposit certificate of 16,000,000 won or more from a bank in Korea or abroad, in the financial sponsor's name. Applicants in Korea: 8,000,000 won or more, kept 1 month or more as of the application date.
Printed with it, whole: "네팔, 베트남, 우즈베키스탄, 카자흐스탄, 키르기스스탄 등 장관고시 21개 국가 출신 지원자는 재정서류 제출이 의무이며, 이외 국가는 재정서류 제출 면제(인증대 기준)". The guide names only these five of the 21 countries.
In English: applicants from the 21 countries on the Minister's list (Nepal, Vietnam, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and others) must file the financial papers; applicants from other countries are exempt (accredited-university basis).
APPLICATION FEE AND ENTRANCE FEE WAIVED, as printed: "전형료 및 입학금 : 면제 (전형료 30,000원 · 입학금 전액 면제)". The entrance fee amount itself is not printed.
First-semester bill (2027 guide): humanities and social majors 3,130,000 less the 50% entrance scholarship = 1,565,000 won; arts and sports majors 3,472,000 less 50% = 1,736,000 won. From semester 2 the share follows your GPA.
Papers in a language other than English need a Korean translation; more papers can be asked for. The document standard can change with the immigration guideline for international students.
Dormitory (guide, no period printed): men's hall single 680,000 won, double 530,000 won; women's hall single 700,000 won, double 550,000 won. Apply on the school's dormitory form (생활관 지원신청서); new and far-away students first.
The dorm notice of 2026-08-19 charges the same sums as the semester's move-in fee and adds a 4-person room at 430,000 won.
Dorm notice of 2026-08-19: the move-in fee includes the key deposit and the residents' council fee ("열쇠 보증금과 자치비 포함"); pay in 3 instalments if you wish; single rooms only as rooms are left; a Saturday night is 150,000 won.
Same notice: a tuberculosis certificate (X-ray within 3 months) within 2 weeks of moving in or you cannot stay; no infectious disease (TB, active hepatitis, COVID-19). The dorm office line is 053-815-7834 (general notice of 2024-08-29).
CHANGE OF VISA STATUS in Korea (guide p.7): bank deposit 8,000,000 won for applicants in Korea or 16,000,000 won for applicants abroad, kept 3 months or more, certificate issued within 1 month.
Also for the visa change (guide p.7): a lease with 6 months or more left at the address on the form, or an accommodation-provision confirmation with the provider's ID; tax and health-insurance clearance; a criminal record check; a TB test result if it applies to you.
Visa-change papers also listed (guide p.7): the integrated application form, signed, photo 3.5 x 4.5 cm on white; passport copy; alien registration card (original); schooling proof with an apostille, consular confirmation or education-ministry verification, issued or notarised within 6 months.
Visa-change fee as printed: D-2 holders 60,000 won (space left on the card) or 95,000 won (no space); other statuses 135,000 won. Students coming from D-4 need 1 year of Korean course completed, or TOPIK 2 if under 1 year.
Refunds: hand in the "등록 포기각서" (attached form 5) and the refund request at the institute with the payment receipt and an ID copy (guide p.8).

All requirements
- You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals ("부모 모두 외국인인 외국인"). Dual nationals and stateless persons do not count as foreigners. Also accepted: you and your parents all took foreign nationality before you began high-school-level study
- FRESHMEN: you finished elementary and secondary school, in Korea or abroad. Equivalency exams and homeschooling are not mentioned in the guide. Expected graduates must file the diploma and full transcript by 28 February 2027
- Selection: documents 100% (study plan, self-introduction and the rest), judged on study and language ability together. An interview or test may be added if the review finds it needed; missing it or doing very poorly can fail you
- A Korean high school record (학교생활기록부) is checked for school-violence measures; points off or a fail. Ties all pass. An applicant below the language bar fails
- Places: no limit (정원외, outside the quota). The foreigner track recruits twice a year, March and September. Dates may change with school circumstances
- Original papers are handed in at the International Exchange and Education Institute in person; by post only after calling first, with your applicant number. Papers are not returned (the original diploma is, after the selection)
- Not filing the common papers cancels the admission (guide p.7). Errors or missing items on the form are the applicant's own risk
- Attach a photo to the application form and bring ID (alien registration card or passport copy) to any interview. Reserve candidates must stay reachable for extra-pass calls (guide p.8)
- False or forged papers, or any other dishonest route, cancel the admission even after entry (guide p.8)
- Applicants coming through an agency: the agency may correct its applicant list twice per round, and the school does not contact its applicants one by one about missing papers (guide p.7)
- A visa refused by the immigration office cancels the admission; the school takes no responsibility for visa decisions. Not registering in the window cancels the admission
- TUITION a semester (학비(1학기), 2027 guide): 3,130,000 won humanities and social majors; 3,472,000 won arts and sports majors. Application fee (30,000 won) and entrance fee waived. May change from March 2027
- ENGLISH TRACK (상담·영어전공 and 글로벌비즈니스전공 only), as printed: "TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, NEW TEPS 202점 이상 중 1개 취득자" (one of them). TOEFL is printed on the old 0 to 120 scale
- The undergraduate guide prints no class-language split for this track; the school's graduate English track teaches 50% or more of credits in English. Ask the institute what share of your classes is in English
- The TOPIK 4 graduation rule and the Korean-hours rule for TOPIK 2 holders are printed under the Korean track (guide p.4); nothing is printed for English-track graduation: ask the institute. Not open to transfers (Korean track only)
