What can I study?

Published by Daegu Catholic University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application, study plan, academic record check consent, personal data consent, private insurance pledge and translator confirmation on the school forms
• High school diploma (notarised translation; China: CHSI report or apostille; elsewhere apostille) and the full transcript; transfers add the university certificate and full transcript
• Passport copy; nationality proof of you and both parents; family relation certificate (China: hukou plus kinship certificate; elsewhere a government certificate with notarised translation)
• Financial guarantor's bank balance certificate plus the guarantor's employment and income certificates
• If you have them: alien registration cards (you and parents), entry and exit record, language score, department head's ability verification; the application-fee transfer receipt

THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE from your financial guarantor, deposited for at least a month, filed WITH the application (the English guide prints "more than US $18,000"; the Korean guide governs). DCU institute trainees file their own Korean-bank certificate of 8,000,000 or more.

Application fee 100,000 won by transfer to the university's iM Bank account (holder 대구가톨릭대학교); unpaid in the window means the application is cancelled.

Dormitory: four-person room in the International Building, 550,000 won management fee a semester (107 days), shared bathroom, meals separate; round-1 applicants get priority.

Refunds: five sixths within 45 days of the semester start, two thirds to 60 days, half to 90 days, nothing after.

All requirements

• You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals with no Korean nationality
• You graduated (or will) from a regular high school after 12 years of schooling (11-year systems only if the last three secondary years were in one country). The guide prints no GED or homeschooling rule
• KOREAN, one of: TOPIK 3, or a pass on the school's CU-TOPIK (arts and PE from TOPIK 2); King Sejong Institute intermediate 1; level 3 at the DCU institute or two semesters there; KIIP stage 3 or a pre-test score of 61
• ENGLISH TRACK (International School, Global Business only): TOEFL 530 (iBT 5 on the new scale), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or New TEPS 326; the track may be refused if the course is not opened
• THE FALL 2026 GUIDE IS THE NEWEST: its rounds (11 May to 5 August 2026) are closed and the Spring 2027 guide is expected in October to November 2026 on ibsi.cu.ac.kr; fees and rules may change
• Selection is 100% on documents (an interview for applicants schooled entirely abroad, or where the English track or a department head must verify ability); no quota
• Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy are not open; undeclared (Francisco College) students cannot later move to those, Theology, Education, Design, Pet Health, Radiology or Physiotherapy. Confirm your major with the admissions officer
• Transfers: year 2 after one year at a four-year university; year 3 with a junior college degree or two years; year 4 for three-year college graduates. Two LEI semesters admit freshmen to the undeclared school only
• TOPIK 4 or the LEI online Korean course is needed to graduate; health insurance is compulsory; a visa refusal cancels the admission
