What can I study?

Published by Dong-A University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form, self-introduction (form 1), study plan (form 2) and academic record check consent (form 3); PhD and integrated applicants add a research plan (form 5)
• Bachelor's degree (or expected) certificate and transcript; PhD applicants the master's certificate and transcript; integrated type 2 the master's transcript and an enrolment certificate
• Transcripts must show a CGPA or percentage, or come with an official conversion (a WES conversion if the school cannot issue one). Chinese degrees: CHSI report plus both the degree and graduation certificates
• Parent and child relationship certificate, parents' ID copies, your passport copy and language proof
• Bank balance proof; a sponsor (a parent or the supervising professor) adds income and employment certificates and form 4, all in one file
• Where they apply: recommendation letter, research record (form 6), professor approval (form 7), single-parent form (form 8), portfolio

THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE if you live abroad, or 8,000,000 won from a Korean bank if you live in Korea; issued within a month before or after you apply, uploaded WITH the application. A supervising professor may guarantee only one student.

Country rules printed in the guide: Uzbekistan, a KDB Bank certificate held a month or more, USD 13,000 or more; Vietnam, held three months or more, 16,000,000 won or more.

Application fee 70,000 won (master's) or 80,000 (PhD and integrated), by card on the application site; not refunded. Entrance fee 692,000 won once (integrated type 2 exempt).

Dormitory (Hanlim Hall, Seunghak campus): women 939,000 won, men 1,070,000 a semester without vacation; may change for 2027.

All requirements

• A four-year bachelor's (held or expected) for a master's or integrated course (type 1); a master's for a PhD. Integrated type 2 is only for current Dong-A master's students in their 3rd or 4th semester, same department
• You and both parents are foreign nationals; dual nationals and stateless persons are not treated as foreigners (the English guide reads otherwise; the Korean guide prevails)
• KOREAN TRACK: TOPIK 3 or SKA 296. ENGLISH TRACK: IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 3.5 (59 if taken by 20 January 2026) or New TEPS 202. Scores from tests on or after 14 October 2024
• No score needed for arts and sports applicants, or after secondary or higher schooling in South Africa, New Zealand, the USA, Ireland, the UK, Canada or Australia; their language is judged at the interview
• Selection: documents 40% plus an oral major exam 60% on 4 November 2026 (schedule posted 30 October). Overseas applicants may sit it by phone, video call or e-mail
• A recommendation letter (signed by a professor of your earlier department) for Tourism Management and integrated type 2; a Rural Development Administration letter for the industry-partner Applied Bioscience. Design needs a portfolio
• A professor approval form (form 7) for Food Biotechnology, Applied Bioscience, Nursing, Architecture, Industrial Management and Musicology and Culture. Ask the department's lead professor for it by e-mail, with a CV
• Form 7 also for the industry-partner Materials and Applied Bioscience programmes, Medical Administration and Psychotherapy (PhD applicants from another field), and science or engineering PhD applicants whose earlier major differs
• The industry-partner Materials Science and Engineering programme also needs a partner-institution confirmation. Applicants already in Korea must finish their visa change before the semester starts
• Round 2 (9 to 23 December 2026) is announced; its guide is not yet posted and departments may change. Apply online at donga-graduate.znasoft.com
• Law is offered only on a separate Chinese-taught track (master's and PhD) with its own guide and no scholarship. E-visa only for applicants who applied through a study-abroad agency
