Official figures from the source page on the date checked. Estimates are Waegook's. Unknown is shown as not published, never as zero.
What do I need?
- Everyone: application form, final school certificate, passport copy (and residence card copy if you hold one), photos 3 x 4 cm on white (the Korean guide asks five; the English guide two if you hold a visa, five if not), and the fee
- Applicants from the 21 countries named by the Ministry of Justice: the school certificate with an apostille, a Chinese Ministry of Education report or consular confirmation
- Living abroad, add: study plan, bank balance certificate, a parent's employment and income proof, family relationship certificate, ID copies of you and your parents, and your transcript
- For the D-4: a tuberculosis certificate. The institute supplies the admission letter, tuition receipt, expected-enrolment certificate and its business registration
THE BANK BALANCE IS 8,000,000 WON OR MORE for overseas applicants, plus a parent's income of USD 8,000 a year or more.
Tuition 1,300,000 won a term (D-4 applicants pay 2,600,000 for two terms). Application fee 50,000 won once at first entry, not refunded. Textbooks about 50,000 won. Overseas transfer fees are yours.
If you cancel after getting the visa, the school tells immigration and the visa is cancelled too.
Dormitory: twin room about 756,000 won for three months, meals not included. New arrivals must live there for three months; leaving earlier ends the course. Group insurance about 70,000 won.

All requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent. Apply at apply.donga.ac.kr, paying the fee with the documents
- Selection: documents, then an interview for those who pass the document check; results are sent one by one. Classes are taught in Korean only
- D-4 is for study of six months or more, so D-4 applicants apply for at least two terms
- The number of terms can depend on nationality and visa type, so ask first. The guide's examples: two terms for the US, East Asia, China, France and Australia; four for Russia, Central Asia and Southeast Asia
- Vietnam: no applicants from Ha Tinh or Nghe An; vocational-school graduates need a score of 80 or more
- Already in Korea, or no visa needed: apply up to two weeks before the term starts
- Move up a level with a grade of 70 and 80% attendance
- Refunds: in full if the visa is refused or no suitable class opens; otherwise in full before the start, two thirds before a third of the hours, half after a third, nothing after half
- Finishing intermediate 2 here meets the TOPIK 3 rule for a Dong-A degree; two or more terms here with 80% attendance raise the Dong-A undergraduate entrance scholarship to 50 to 100%
