What can I study?

Published by Dong-A University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form (printed after applying online) and the academic record check consent (form 2)
• High school graduation (or expected) certificate and full transcript, each with an apostille or Korean consular confirmation
• Transfers add the university graduation or enrolment certificate (apostille or consular confirmation; degrees from China: CHSI report in English plus a notarised certificate) and the full university transcript
• Parent and child relationship certificate issued by a foreign government; divorce or death certificate where relevant; single parents add form 4, certified by the home government
• ID copies of you and both parents, and your passport copy
• Bank balance certificate; if it is not in your name, add the sponsor form (form 3) and the sponsor's income and employment certificates
• Korean language proof from within two years of the deadline
• Optional: high school profile, activity records signed or sealed by the principal, national exam results

THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE if you live abroad (the guide adds about USD 12,100 at 1,330 won), or 8,000,000 won from a Korean bank if you live in Korea. Issued within a month before or after you apply, and uploaded WITH the application. The embassy may ask its own amount for the visa.

Application fee 40,000 won, paid on the application site (MY PAGE); not refunded.

Once the fee is paid you cannot change the major or add papers, and papers sent by post or e-mail are not accepted. Visa papers are issued only after tuition and originals arrive.

The first-semester tuition includes 158,200 won of entrance cost (Dong-A 2026 tuition table), so later semesters cost 158,200 less. Paying from abroad: ask the International Office for an invoice.

The document table still lists a self-introduction (form 1), but page 14 of the same guide says self-introductions and recommendation letters are abolished and cannot be sent. Ask the office before preparing one.

Dong-A Korean institute alumni reuse their language-school papers and upload only a photo, passport copy, record check consent, bank certificate and language proof.

Dormitory (Hanlim Hall, Seunghak campus), a semester without vacation: women 939,000 won, men 1,070,000; may change for 2027. Health insurance about 60,000 won a month; private student insurance about 35,000 a semester.

All requirements

• You and BOTH parents are foreign nationals. Dual nationals and stateless persons are not treated as foreigners
• Freshmen: a high school graduate (or expected graduate) of a regular school course recognised by that country's law. The guide does not mention a GED or homeschooling
• Transfers: year 2 after one year (two semesters) at a four-year university, year 3 after two years; a two or three-year college degree fits either. Foreign credits count by share (a quarter or a half; UK three-year: a third or two thirds)
• Transfer lists use some older unit names (for example Philosophy, Life and Medical Ethics; Applied Biology). Culinary and Food Business takes freshmen only
• KOREAN: TOPIK 3, or Dong-A TOPIK 3, Dong-A institute intermediate 2, KIIP pre-test 61 or stage 3, King Sejong (in person) intermediate 1, or SKA 296. Scores within two years of the deadline
• Freshmen only may enter with level 2 (TOPIK 2, Dong-A TOPIK 2, institute intermediate 1, KIIP 41 or stage 2, King Sejong beginner 2, SKA 216) if they finish the required Korean courses in year one
• THE DONG-A KOREAN TEST for round 1 is on 16 October 2026 at the Bumin campus: register 1 to 8 October by Google Form, fee 40,000 won, result 30 October. Round 2 test 23 December, round 3 test 27 January
• Selection is by documents. Arts and sports majors may sit a practical test and some departments may interview (dates announced separately). A small number of places per unit, within capacity
• Round 3 (20 to 28 January 2027) is only for applicants already living in Korea. Apply online at applydonga.accomsystem.co.kr; the application counts only once the fee is paid
• Medicine, nursing, education and law are not in the 2027 list of units. No leave of absence in the first semester after entry
