What can I study?
- Free Major division: in year 2 choose any Global Convergence major (not Early Childhood Education) or Science and Technology major
- Or, only through this division: Korean Studies (international students only) or Korean Language Education (Korean teacher licence level 2)
Published by Duksung Women's University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- Application form and document checklist, printed from the online application (upload a front-facing ID photo taken within 3 months)
- Self-introduction and study plan (school form, typed in Korean online, four questions of up to 1,000 characters, then printed)
- Consent to an academic record check (school form, every line filled in and signed by hand), one for each high school abroad; transfers also one for each previous university
- On the consent form, give the phone, fax and e-mail of the school's records office, not the main number on its website (form, p.23)
- Freshmen: high school graduation (or expected) certificate and transcript or school record. Transfers: high school diploma, university or college certificate and transcript; 2-year completers add proof of credits and semesters
- Transfers: if your transcript already shows the credits needed to graduate and the semesters completed, no separate proof of them is needed
- Where your country issues no high school diploma for a combined high school and (junior) college course, the (junior) college certificate may replace it
- Foreign school papers need an apostille or consular confirmation; if your school's country is in the Apostille Convention, an apostille is the rule. Transcripts must show every course with grade and credits (or you cannot apply)
- Korean proof: TOPIK 3 report (TOPIK 2 where your row says so); or a Korean course completion (or expected) certificate with enrolment, transcript and attendance papers
- If you file an expected Korean course completion certificate, hand in the completion certificate before entry, or admission may be cancelled
- Family relation proof issued by a foreign government, equal to a Korean family relation certificate
- Nationality proof for you and both parents (citizenship or passport copies). If any of you was ever Korean: proof of losing Korean and gaining foreign nationality. Divorce or death: government papers
- Alien registration card copy, front and back (only if you live in Korea)
- D-2 visa applicants: a bank certificate (see the notes) and the sponsor's study expense pledge (school form)
- Schools in China, as printed: general high schools a CHSI (学信网) report in English; vocational high schools a school or provincial office diploma with Korean consulate confirmation; transcripts apostilled or consular-certified
- China, continued as printed: a CHSI report takes about 30 days. Vocational high schools under the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security: a printout of that ministry's site check with consulate confirmation only
THE BANK BALANCE IS USD16,000 OR MORE, in your or a parent's name: a bank balance certificate, or proof of USD16,000 or more remitted or exchanged in Korea, issued within 1 month of the application date.
Registered foreigners living in Korea: only a balance certificate in your own name for 20,000,000 won or more at a Korean bank. Duksung Global Education Institute trainees may file half the amount, with the institute certificate.
Application fee 100,000 won (document review); the online service charge is paid by the school. Not refunded once paid (guide p.11), also not if your papers are missing or you fail the eligibility check (p.12).
Fee refunds (p.14): only an overpayment, or a case the school accepts on a refund request with proof. A surplus left after the admission round is returned in proportion to the fee, to the refund account you give, or in person.
Results: round 1 on 19 November 2026, round 2 on 31 December 2026, on the school site (check yourself; notices go on the Admission Notice board). Orientation and course registration planned for February 2027.
Tuition by 26 November 2026 16:00 (round 1) or 7 January 2027 16:00 (round 2).
Admission letters: December 2026 (round 1) and January 2027 (round 2). Expected graduates hand in the final diploma, apostilled or consular-confirmed, after passing.
Dormitory, 2026 second semester (30 August to 20 December 2026): international students may apply to Gaon Hall I only: 908,000 won (two-person) or 1,214,000 won (single), plus a 30,000 won yearly entry fee.
The guide lists priority dormitory places for new international students; a lottery decides when applicants outnumber beds. In 2026 the notice let new students apply for two-person rooms only. 2027 rates are not printed.
Dormitory office: +82-2-2001-8000 or 8009, dormitory@duksung.ac.kr (the dormitory's own notices; the guide p.18 prints dormitory@ds.ac.kr).
All international students are enrolled in National Health Insurance and pay a monthly premium (guide p.18).
New students are reviewed for the Global Awareness scholarship with no form: winners are announced with the results (see Scholarships).
Questions: International Affairs Team +82-2-901-4610, intl@duksung.ac.kr (the guide's admission e-mail). The 2027 notice gives byulnama@duksung.ac.kr; the guide also prints byulnama@ds.ac.kr.

All requirements
- FREE MAJOR: freshmen only. Korean Studies and Korean Language Education are chosen in year 2 from this division; Korean Studies is open only to international students
- Who can apply, as printed: a foreign woman whose parents both hold foreign nationality (부모 모두 외국 국적을 소유하고 있는 외국인 여성)
- You and both parents must have taken foreign nationality before you began study equal to Korean high school. Korean dual nationals cannot apply. With a single parent (or an unmarried parent), that parent's nationality counts
- FRESHMEN: graduated, or graduating before 1 March 2027 (1 April 2027 for high schools in Japan), from a high school in or outside Korea. Equivalency exams (US and Canadian GED, China's self-study exam and the like) are NOT accepted
- TRANSFERS, by 1 March 2027 (1 April 2027 for universities in Japan): 2 years at a 4-year university with 65 credits; or a 2- or 3-year college graduate; or a bachelor's. Open, industrial and cyber universities count
- KOREAN (one of): TOPIK 3; level 3 of a Korean course at an institute in or outside Korea; KIIP pre-test 61 or stage 3; King Sejong Institute intermediate 1. Another level scale is judged on proof
- Without TOPIK 3 at entry, the school recommends 300 hours or more of Korean classes in your first year
- Selection: documents 100% (academic record, spoken Korean, interest in the major, will to study, adaptability, sincerity). An interview may be asked to check facts. Scores and evaluations are not disclosed
- Places: no limit is set unless the row says otherwise. Admission can still be refused if your academic level is judged too low
- False or forged papers cancel the admission, even after entry; tuition paid is then not refunded (except under the tuition refund rules if the semester has not ended), and you cannot enter Duksung for 3 years
- Freshmen of the Global Convergence, Science and Technology, and Art & Design colleges study one year in the college, then choose a major in year 2
- TUITION, 2027 rates a semester: year 1 by college, years 2 to 4 by field. Every first-semester figure is 190,000 won more than the second; the guide does not name it. Transfers pay their field rate plus 190,000 the first semester
