What can I study?

Published by Handong Global University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form, by Google Form Page
• Personal information consent, on Handong's form
• Self-introduction, on Handong's form
• One recommendation letter, on Handong's form
• Official transcripts from your university, and your graduate school if you have one
• Diploma or certificate of pending graduation, with an apostille or Korean consular notarisation if it is from abroad
• An English score from the last two years, or a professor's letter on your English
• Passport, valid past the start of the semester
• Bank statement of USD 10,000 or more, deposited within a month, or a sponsor's letter of responsibility
• If you will live in the dormitory: proof of measles vaccination and a tuberculosis test
• If all your university courses were taught in English, send a certificate of English-medium classes instead of an English score

SPRING 2027: apply by Google Form or HGS@handong.edu from 2 Nov to 4 Dec 2026, 12:00 KST. Document results 24 Dec; online interview by 4 Jan 2027; final results 21 Jan 2027, 14:00. There is no later round.

Scans go by email to HGS@handong.edu within the application period. Originals follow by post once you are admitted.

Without a bank certificate or a sponsor's letter, Handong does not decide on your application.

If your visa is not issued, the admission is cancelled.

You apply to one department only.

International students pay the 900,000 won admission fee and the tuition in full on 25 to 27 Jan 2027, so the admission certificate can be issued. All required documents follow on 22 to 24 Feb 2027, in person or by post.

All requirements

• You and both your parents are citizens of a foreign country, not Korea
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or one expected by February 2027, or 16 years of schooling abroad recognised as equal
• Two stages: your documents, then an interview for those who pass
• Without an English score your supervising professor writes a letter on your English, and you must reach the score before you graduate
• Regular admits get an average 65% tuition scholarship for two years, while the previous semester's grades stay at B0 or above
• English test score submission is waived if you completed all university coursework in a country where English is the first official language.
• English test score submission is waived if you completed all undergraduate or graduate coursework entirely in English.
• English test score submission is waived for applicants with at least 5 years of specialized experience or equivalent qualifications who have all professors' consent.
