What do I need?

- One recommendation letter, on Handong's form
- Official transcripts from your university, and your graduate school if you have one
- Diploma or certificate of pending graduation, with an apostille or Korean consular notarisation if it is from abroad
- An English score from the last two years, or a professor's letter on your English
- Passport, valid past the start of the semester
- Bank statement of USD 10,000 or more, deposited within a month, or a sponsor's letter of responsibility
- If you will live in the dormitory: proof of measles vaccination and a tuberculosis test
SPRING 2027 DATES ARE NOT PUBLISHED. Handong's international page still shows the Fall 2026 call, which closed at 12:00 on 12 June 2026.
Scans go by email to [email protected] within the application period. Originals follow by post once you are admitted.
Without a bank certificate or a sponsor's letter, Handong does not decide on your application.
If your visa is not issued, the admission is cancelled.
You apply to one department only.

All requirements
- You and both your parents are citizens of a foreign country, not Korea
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university, or 16 years of schooling abroad recognised as equal
- Two stages: your documents, then an interview for those who pass
- Without an English score your supervising professor writes a letter on your English, and you must reach the score before you graduate
- Regular admits get an average 65% tuition scholarship for two years, while the previous semester's grades stay at B0 or above
