What do I need?
- Application form; passport copy; one photo
- Bank balance certificate of USD 10,000 or more and an income certificate, in your or a parent's name, issued within one month
- Final school graduation certificate and transcript with an apostille or consular confirmation; proof of family relation
- China: the original CHSI or CDGDC academic report and a hukou copy
THE BANK BALANCE IS USD 10,000 OR MORE for the D-4 visa, with an income certificate, in your or a parent's name, issued within one month.
Tuition 1,400,000 won a term. Application fee 70,000 won once, not refundable (the application site bills it on the admitted student's invoice). Insurance 116,000 won for 1 year 6 months.
Dormitory 1,130,000 won for two terms, meals not included, three to a room (some rooms cost more), plus a 300,000 won deposit paid after the visa is approved. The printed total for four terms (one year) is 6,916,000 won.

All requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent, who will apply to a Hannam undergraduate or graduate programme
- D-4 visa: four terms must be registered at once. The only exception: a guarantor in Korea who files an anti-absconding pledge and an ID copy
- New students live in the dormitory for their first two terms; no dormitory refund if you leave or are expelled in that time
- Apply online at hnukorean.hnu.kr. Applicants who pass the document review have a Korean interview on Zoom
- NO 2027 TERM DATES ARE POSTED. The application site lists only Winter 2026 rounds 2 and 3. The course page gives a yearly pattern that may change: Spring starts early March, Summer early June, Fall early September, Winter early December
- Pass a level with a 70% average and 70% attendance, or repeat it. The visa extension can be refused at 70% attendance or less
- Part-time work needs 6 months in Korea and average attendance above 90% over all terms: up to 25 hours a week with TOPIK 2 or higher, otherwise up to 10
- Moving to another school is allowed only after the first 6-month visa ends, and with the school's approval
- Refunds: 100% before the certificate of admission; 90% from then to a week before the start (other costs kept); 70% until a tenth of class days; nothing after
- Unused later terms can be refunded if you must leave Korea, or once you enter Hannam and your visa change is done (with proof). Dates count from the refund request
- Level 3 here meets the Korean rule for a Hannam degree, and institute graduates get the Global Bridge scholarship (20% or 30% off the first degree semester)
- Prizes each term by final evaluation, per class: 1st 150,000 won, 2nd 100,000, 3rd 50,000. Exchange students get none in the spring and fall terms, when their course fee is waived
- Partner-university exchange students: no course fee or application fee in the spring and fall terms
- Hannam international undergraduates and partner 2+2 dual-degree students: summer and winter 50% off with no application fee; the page also lists 50% off (fee waived) and 20% off without saying when. Ask
