What can I study?

Published by Hannam University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Online application with a 3 x 4 cm photo, and the study plan on the school form, both uploaded at gra.hannam.ac.kr
• Graduation (or expected) certificate or degree recognition, original, and the full transcript; PhD applicants file both bachelor's and master's. Foreign degrees: apostille or consular confirmation
• China: the CHSI degree certificate with an apostille or consular confirmation. Pakistan: a degree recognised by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan
• Academic record check consent (graduates of other universities, including foreign ones); transfers add enrolment and completion certificates; Fine Arts adds a portfolio
• In Korea: Korean (or English) proof, alien registration card copy, passport copy, a family document showing your parents' nationality
• Abroad: Korean (or English) proof, bank balance certificate of 16,000,000 won or more, passport copy, a family document showing your parents' nationality, a copy of your own bankbook with the SWIFT code

THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE. Applicants abroad file it WITH the application. Foreigners in Korea changing status after admission prepare one in their own name separately, plus apostilled original diploma and transcript.

Application fee 70,000 won (master's) or 80,000 (PhD and integrated), paid online by internet banking or card, not refunded. Entrance fee 778,740 won, first semester only.

Tuition (2026 rates, may change): humanities and social 3,988,470; science and PE 4,840,330; engineering and arts 5,266,070 won a semester.

Applicants abroad pay 22 to 24 December 2026; the certificate of admission is issued and e-mailed on 7 January 2027. Applicants in Korea pay at the end of January 2027 (planned).

All requirements

• Master's or integrated course: a 4-year bachelor's, held or expected. PhD: a master's, held or expected. A FOREIGN degree must already be held: expected graduates of foreign universities cannot apply (Korean ones can)
• Applicants living abroad can apply only in this regular round. The later additional round takes only foreigners in Korea who can change their status here
• KOREAN, one of: TOPIK 3 or higher; level 3 or higher completed at the Hannam Center for Korean Language. Only scores valid on the application deadline count
• ENGLISH instead, only for the 14 English-parallel departments: TOEFL PBT 530, CBT 197 or iBT 71; IELTS 5.5; TEPS 601; TOEIC 650. The guide prints only the old TOEFL scale
• Applicants to those departments from a country where English is the native language may file middle or high school transcripts and diplomas instead of a score
• Selection: documents 100 points (study plan 50, grades 50) and a major oral exam 100 points (knowledge 60, aptitude 20, commitment 20). Fine Arts: a portfolio instead of the practical test. Absent means fail
• Transfers: semester 2 after 1 semester and 6 credits at another graduate school; semester 3 after 2 semesters and 12 credits
• Departments with few applicants may admit no one. Admits abroad who do not apply for a student visa by 31 January 2027 may lose the place
• Expected graduates must file the final graduation certificate by 20 February 2027. A family document showing your parents' nationality is required; the guide prints no both-parents rule
