What can I study?

Published by Hanseo University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form and self-introduction and study plan (school forms; the plan in Korean or English)
• Final school certificate (graduation, expected graduation or enrolment) with an apostille or consular confirmation, issued within 6 months of applying. Route 2: proof of elementary, middle and high school
• Chinese nationals, as printed: "중국 국적자는 CHSI(학신망) 발행 서류 및 아포스티유 제출만 인정" (only a CHSI report with an apostille is accepted)
• Final transcript, as an English or Korean notarised translation (printed "영문 또는 국문 번역공증본"). Certificates and transcripts must be issued within 6 months
• Family relationship certificate or birth certificate; papers if parents divorced or died. Chinese nationals, as printed: "중국 국적자는 호구부(번역공증본) 제출" (hukou, notarised translation)
• Copies of your passport and your parents' passports or ID cards showing nationality; a separate copy of your passport
• Financial proof: a bank balance certificate or a financial guarantee (see the notes), issued within 1 month of applying
• Language proof (one): TOPIK report; 2 years of study in Korea; Korean course completion (or expected) with a recommendation; English score (English track)
• Photo 3 x 4 cm, white background, English name on the back; health certificate (test results issued within 3 months)
• Consent to use personal information and consent to check your schooling (school forms). The guide's forms also include a translator confirmation (번역자 확인서) for translated papers
• Alien registration card copy (residents of Korea only); certificate of entry and exit (route 2 only)

THE BANK BALANCE IS 16,000,000 WON OR MORE (printed 1,600만원), in your or your parents' name (printed "본인 및 부모명의(국외체류자)", people living abroad). Applicants from Hanseo itself (printed "본교 출신자"): 10,000,000 won (1,000만원), own account at a Korean bank only.

Issued within 1 month of applying; a financial certificate that prints a validity period counts for up to 6 months. A financial guarantor must be a full-time Hanseo professor, one student per professor until graduation.

The guide's process diagram says papers go in online, but its submission box says post or in person only (우편 및 방문접수만 가능합니다). Post or hand them in.

No semester start date, entrance fee or dormitory fee is printed in the guide. Dormitory for the 2026 second semester, by hall and room: Seosan 490,000 to 870,000 won, Taean 540,000 to 830,000 won (dormitory notices of May 2026).

The admission letter (표준입학허가서) is issued after tuition is paid. Results are sent to each applicant.

All requirements

• TWO ROUTES. (1) You and both parents hold foreign nationality. (2) You are a foreign national who finished all schooling (elementary to high school) abroad. Dual nationals holding Korean nationality cannot apply
• Route 2 is printed as closed to applicants whose parents are both foreign and who are foreign themselves (they use route 1): "부모가 모두 외국인이면서 본인도 외국인인 경우 지원불가"
• Route 2 enters in the second semester only (Fall 2027): "전 교육과정 이수자(외국인)는 2학기 입학만 가능합니다". The Spring 2027 round is for route 1
• Route 2 schooling: all of elementary to high school abroad, at schools with one country's system, or at two or more schools with different systems. Any time at a school in Korea in the 12 years disqualifies
• 11- or 12-grade systems: the last 3 years done in that country count as high school ("단, 2개국 이상에서 11학년 이상의 초·중등과정을 이수해야함", as printed). 13-grade systems: grades 10 to 12 or 11 to 13 in that country
• FRESHMEN: a regular high school graduate or expected graduate, or an equal level recognised by law. GED and homeschooling are not mentioned in the guide
• TRANSFERS (year 3): meet the freshman rules, and have finished (or will finish) year 2 or 4 semesters (no summer or winter terms) at a Korean or foreign 4-year university, or graduated (or will graduate) from a 2- or 3-year junior college
• Transfers from a foreign university need at least 65 credits, half of the minimum credits for a bachelor's (printed "최저학점의 1/2(65학점) 이상")
• KOREAN (one of): TOPIK 3 (TOPIK 2 for arts and sports majors); 2 years or more at a school in Korea; a Korean course at Hanseo's institute or a recognised institute, with a recommendation; or the institute director's recommendation
• The guide prints the Korean-course route twice: "6개월 이상" (6 months or more, eligibility page) and "15주 이상" (15 weeks or more, document table). Ask the office which applies
• Selection: documents 100%. The school may ask for more papers and an interview. One university only: you cannot register at two
• TUITION IS NOT PRINTED in the 2027 international guide or on any school page we found (checked 21 October 2026). Ask the international office (+82-41-660-1706, semin@hanseo.ac.kr)
• Application fee 50,000 won for both routes, not refunded once the application is received
• Missing papers can mean a fail, and missing items or false facts can cancel the admission. Unpaid tuition by the deadline cancels it. Submitted papers are not returned
• The guide says the schedule and every step may change (상기 일정은 변경될 수 있습니다): check with the international office before you apply
