What can I study?

Published by Hanyang University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form and declaration, paid online and printed
• Personal statement and study plan, written online, only for departments that ask
• High school graduation or expected graduation certificate (CHSI for Chinese schools; apostille or consular authentication elsewhere)
• High school transcript for every semester on a 100-point scale or with the maximum grade shown
• Passports of you and both parents (Chinese applicants: ID cards front and back too)
• Family relationship or birth certificate, notarised translation if not in Korean or English
• Optional: TOPIK or IIE certificate, TOEFL or IELTS, extra-curricular records; proof of giving up Korean nationality where it applies
• Artwork units: statement of verification for the artwork

ALL PAPERS BY POST to the Office of International Affairs, A4, nothing returned. In-person delivery is not accepted.

THE BANK CERTIFICATE is asked only from admitted students who need the D-2 visa; the Seoul guide prints no amount and says the criteria come with the result.

Application fee 142,000 won (169,000 with a second choice). Refunded only if you cancel during the online window.

All requirements

• You and both parents are foreign nationals, held since before you entered high school. A dual national with Korean nationality must have given it up before high school
• You graduate (or will) from high school. Homeschooling, cyber learning, adult education, a GED and Chinese five-year schools are NOT accepted
• NO KOREAN SCORE TO APPLY. TOPIK 4 (or TOPIK IBT 4, or Hanyang IIE level 4) is needed to START classes; admitted students without it take leave and study Korean first
• ENGLISH TRACK: International Studies needs TOEFL iBT 89 or IELTS 6.5; Data Science and Business Administration (Global Management Track) need TOEFL iBT 80 or IELTS 6.0, plus an English interview. Exempt with an English-speaking nationality
• Selection: documents only for most units; documents plus an English interview for International Studies and Data Science; documents plus artwork for Interior Architecture Design, music, dance, theatre and film
• You may name a first and second choice (27,000 won extra). Business Administration and Media and Communication only as first choice. Transfers cannot apply to Architecture, Data Science or the Global Management Track
• Medicine, nursing, pharmacy and education are not in the list of open departments
• Seoul and ERICA admit separately; if both accept you, you register at one
