What can I study?

Published by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application through uwayapply
• Degree or graduation certificate and transcript with an apostille or Korean consular authentication, issued within two years (China: CHSI reports plus notarised certificates)
• Passport and residence card copy
• Financial Certification on the HUFS form
• Language score or proof of exemption

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON or the equivalent, in your or a parent's name, issued within 30 days of the Certificate of Admission request, from admitted students only.

Application fee 90,000 won (master's) or 95,000 (PhD, integrated) plus a 5,000 or 7,000 agency fee. Not refunded.

Tuition is 2026 basis and may change; the admission fee of 1,070,000 is paid once. Optional student council fee 25,000.

All requirements

• A bachelor's for a master's or integrated course, a master's for a PhD, obtained by February 2027 (Japan: March)
• The special round needs an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 of 4.5 (85 of 100), PhD 3.5; the general round has no GPA limit
• LANGUAGE: TOPIK 3, or TOEFL iBT 71, IELTS 5.5, FLEX 550 or New TEPS 326, within two years. Exempt: native English speakers, an English-country or Korean degree, Korean-language majors, government scholars, science and engineering
• TOPIK 4 is needed before graduation if you entered with TOPIK 3
• Evaluation: master's papers 30 (GPA) and interview 70; PhD 40 and 60. Bonus for a matching undergraduate major or TOEFL iBT 100, TOEIC 850 or FLEX 750
• One department per application. The Korean as a Foreign Language and Translation programme takes foreign students only
• Foreign student scholarship for department-recommended top admits: half tuition (humanities master's) or full tuition (science, engineering, every PhD) for four semesters, kept with a GPA of 3.5
