What can I study?
- Korean Studies

- International Studies: relations, development, trade and commerce, socio-cultural studies, cultural heritage
- Strategies on International Area Studies (KOTRA-HUFS, taught in Korean, TOPIK 5 recommended)

Published by Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS). Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.
What do I need?
- GSIAS online application form and the consent for academic records release
- Bachelor's certificate and transcript, originals, apostilled or embassy-certified; PhD applicants add the master's certificate, transcripts and a thesis sample
- Research proposal (in English for International Studies) and one recommendation letter
- Language score report
- Certificate of bank deposit over USD 20,000, from the bank
- Passport, residence card if held, nationality certificates of you and your parents, family or birth certificate and parents' passports (China: Hukou or ID of every family member, CHSI reports)
- Optional GPA conversion (WES ICAP or a letter from your university)
THE BANK BALANCE IS OVER USD 20,000, sent with the application.
Application fee 100,000 won at uwayapply.
TUITION IS NOT PRINTED: the school says to refer to the invoice. Round 2 international admits pay full tuition 6 to 13 January 2027.

All requirements
- A bachelor's (or expected) for the MA; a master's in a related field for the PhD. International status needs you and both parents foreign, or 16 years of schooling outside Korea
- A language score in English or the language of instruction of your major, unless you are a native speaker or graduated in that language
- Interview in English or the language of the major. Expected graduates send legalised final certificates before 1 March 2027
- THE BANK CERTIFICATE GOES WITH THE APPLICATION: over USD 20,000 in your or your family's name
- Scholarships in the guide: an admission award by score, merit awards, doctoral support, partial tuition for Korean Studies, 3+1 study abroad. The GSIAS web page prints 25 to 50% of tuition, subject to change
