What can I study?

Published by Incheon National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Academic Qualifications Form, printed from the online application and signed
• Application for Eligibility Review, printed and signed
• Academic Verification Request Form, stamped by your high school. Not needed if you finished a Korean high school or send a Chinese Ministry of Education verification report
• High school transcript and graduation (or expected graduation) certificate, with an apostille or consular authentication
• English score report: TOEFL iBT 75, TOEIC 700, IELTS 5.5 or PETS 4, valid on the document deadline
• Family relationship certificate, with a notarised Korean or English translation. Add the certificate if your parents divorced or a parent died
• Copies of the passports of you and both parents, or their national ID cards
• Alien registration card, both sides, only if you hold one
• Transfers add: university transcript for every semester, and a certificate of enrolment, completion or graduation
• AFTER ADMISSION, for the visa: a bank balance certificate of 20,000,000 won

EVERYTHING GOES BY REGISTERED POST OR IN PERSON to the International Service Center, Room 107, Building 1. Post counts if it is postmarked by the deadline; keep the receipt.

THE 20,000,000 WON IS NOT PART OF APPLYING. It is due after you are admitted, only if you need a student visa: by 18 December for round 1, by 15 January for round 2.

The account can be yours, a parent's or a spouse's, in Korea or abroad, issued within a month of the results. Uzbek citizens use KDB in Uzbekistan. Moving up from INU's language institute halves the amount.

Expected graduates send the final apostilled certificate and transcript by 19 February 2027.

The 80,000 won fee is 60,000 for the document stage and 20,000 for the interview. Fail the first stage and the 20,000 comes back.

All requirements

• You and both parents are foreign nationals, and all of you held foreign nationality before you began high school. Dual nationals holding Korean nationality cannot apply
• You finished (or will finish) the full primary, middle and high school curriculum, in Korea or abroad. A GED, homeschooling or cyber learning is NOT accepted
• Stage one is your documents; stage two is an interview. Missing the interview fails you
• All new students take the IPA adjustment programme, which includes compulsory Korean classes. No general leave of absence in your first two semesters
• Round 2 is for applicants who already hold a valid visa to stay in Korea, and some departments may not take round 2 applicants
• English: TOEFL iBT 75, TOEIC 700, IELTS 5.5 or PETS level 4 or higher. Citizens of the UK, US, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia or South Africa may skip the test
• IBE is the only English-track department. Some courses may still be taught in Korean
• Native English speakers cannot use the English-score scholarship, only the TOPIK one
