What can I study?

Published by Jeju National University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form, printed after you pay the fee online on Uway Apply
• Personal introduction and study plan, on Jeju's form, in Korean or English
• Degree certificate and transcript: your bachelor's for a master's or the integrated course, your master's for a PhD. With an apostille or consular confirmation
• Copies of both parents' passports or ID cards, and a birth or family certificate showing you are their child
• Copy of your passport with at least 6 months left, and your alien registration card if you live in Korea
• Financial support confirmation form and a bank balance of at least 16,000,000 won, in your name or a parent's
• Language certificate (TOPIK, TOEFL, IELTS or TEPS), or your advisor's waiver letter
• Letter of consent for degree verification, if your degree is from abroad
• Address form for the Certificate of Admission, if you live abroad, and the checklist form

PAPERS GO IN PERSON OR BY POST to the Office of International Affairs, Ara Muse Hall 3F. Email is not accepted.

AFTER YOU ARE ADMITTED you send your own or your parents' bank balance statement again. Without it Jeju cannot issue the Certificate of Admission.

A bank certificate counts only if issued within a month. A professor may guarantee one student instead of a bank balance.

Registered at Jeju already and moving up a degree? The balance is halved.

The fee is 70,000 won, paid online, and not refunded. Expected graduates send the final certificate by the end of February 2027 (spring) or August 2027 (fall).

All requirements

• You and both parents are foreigners. Or you are a foreign national living overseas who completed schooling equivalent to Korean primary, middle and high school plus a regular university programme
• Master's: a bachelor's degree, finished or due. PhD: a master's degree. The integrated master's and PhD also needs a bachelor's average of 85 out of 100 or better
• Language, one of: TOPIK 3; TOEFL iBT 59 (3.5 if taken from 21 January 2026), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2 or New TEPS 202; a waiver letter from your future academic advisor; or citizenship of a country whose mother tongue or official language is English
• Departments marked for Korean in the guide take the TOPIK route only, and a few need both Korean and English
• In English-track departments, half of the credits you need are taught in English, and only to students admitted on their English
• Each department decides on documents, an interview, or both. If two of the three reviewers find you short, you are rejected
• A degree in an unrelated field means extra prerequisite courses
