What do I need?
- Application form (bilingual school form, PDF p.15) and the personal-data consent; self-introduction and study plan; one photo 3 x 4 cm (jpg file too)
- Bachelor's graduation (or expected) certificate or degree certificate, and the bachelor's transcript. PhD applicants add the master's (expected) certificate and transcript
- Expected graduates (and those filing a completion certificate) must file the degree certificate before the semester starts, or the admission is cancelled. Exception: your country's academic year starts up to 1 month later than Korea's
- Degrees abroad, as printed for Chinese nationals: apostille, or consular legalisation, or CHSI verification reports (고등교육 자격증 검증보고서 and 고등교육 학위 증명서 검증보고서); a bachelor's of under 4 years adds the earlier junior college CHSI report
- As printed: "※중국 국적의 학생이 해외대학을 이수한 경우 중국교육부 유학서비스센터 발행「해외학력인증서」의 서류를 추가로 요청할 수 있음" (Chinese nationals who studied at a university outside China may be asked for this certificate too)
- Degrees abroad, other nationalities: apostille or confirmation by the Korean consul in the university's country or in Korea. Korean university papers: issued within 3 months of the deadline
- Language proof within its validity: general course (TOPIK, JB-TOPIK or KIIP papers) or English course (IELTS, TOEFL, TEPS). Bilingual course: none
- Passport copy; alien registration card copy, both sides, if you hold one
- Parents' home-country ID or passport copies, and a hukou or family relation certificate. As printed for Chinese nationals: 친족관계증명서 (notarised translation) or 호구부 (notarised translation) "※호구부는 호주가 부모이며, 호구부가 분리되어 있지 않은 경우"
- Other nationalities: a government-issued certificate of the relation between you and each parent (family relation, birth or household certificate)
- Both family papers (parents' IDs and the relation certificate) are waived for students who entered this school through its foreign-student track
APPLICATION FEE 50,000 won (PhD) or 30,000 won (master's), paid by transfer in the student's own name during the application period; not paid means the application is cancelled; not refunded. No waiver printed.
BANK BALANCE: no amount is printed. Admitted students file a 은행잔고증명서 on the date 국제교류원 sets, under the Ministry of Justice student-visa rules. Ask the office before you budget.
ENTRANCE FEE 800,000 WON, ONCE ("Entrance Fee : 800,000 won" in the 2027 brochure; the same in the 2026 Korean course guide). Bilingual course interpretation fee: master's 450,000 won, PhD 600,000 won, "별도 부과" (period not printed).
Tuition figures are from the 2027 brochure (posted 14 October 2026; "Tuition fees are subject to change"; no period printed). The 2026 Korean course guide printed 3,200,000 (master's) and 3,905,000 won (PhD) for the same departments.
Tuition is paid by virtual account at KB Kookmin Bank or NH; unpaid means a fail (Fall 2026: 13 to 14 August for round 3). Results are posted on the graduate school site.
Dormitory (2027 brochure): Chungcheong campus 4-person room 1,090,000 won for 6 months (2,180,000 a year), common kitchen; Goyang campus 2-person room "4 Months: KRW 1.3 Million", cooking not allowed. No separate graduate rate is printed.
The dormitory office's Fall 2026 notices (May 2026) print 경영관 (Chungcheong) 670,000 won and 수경재 (Goyang) 1,300,000 won a semester, meals not included, places by grades and distance. Ask which rate applies to you.
The English name spelling on every paper must match the passport (a woman with a maiden and married name files proof). False papers cancel the admission even after entry; paid tuition is then not returned.
Evaluation details are not disclosed (guide note 4). Matters the guide does not cover are decided by the school's international exchange committee (note 8).

- THE FALL 2026 GUIDE (third additional round, 추가3) IS THE NEWEST FULL GUIDE. The 2027 English brochure (14 October 2026) says Spring applications are in November but prints no dates; the dates shown are the Fall 2026 round
- Nationality, one of: both parents foreign nationals; or a Korean national or foreigner who completed all schooling equal to Korean primary, secondary and university education abroad
- Dual nationals holding Korean nationality and stateless persons are not recognised as foreigners; papers and fees are not returned
- MASTER'S: a bachelor's from a regular 4-year university in Korea or abroad, held or expected by August 2026 (Fall 2026 guide). PHD: a master's from a regular graduate school, held or expected by August 2026. Any earlier major is accepted
- GENERAL COURSE (일반과정) language, one of: TOPIK (TOPIK IBT) 3 or JB-TOPIK 3 (arts and sport departments: level 2); or KIIP pre-test 81 or stage 4, "(단, E, F 계열 비자 소지자 중 학업활동이 가능한자에 한함) * 입학 후 D계열 비자로 변경 불가"
- The 2027 English brochure prints the KIIP route as stage 3 or pre-test 61, with no visa limit. The Korean Fall 2026 guide above is shown until a Korean 2027 guide appears; ask the office
- ENGLISH COURSE (영어이수과정, 50% or more of the credits in English): IELTS 5.5, TOEFL IBT 59, NEW TEPS 202 or an equal recognised test
- English course without a score: nationals of countries where English is the mother tongue or a legal official language qualify with their secondary or higher education certificates
- As printed: "영어를 모국어로 사용하는 국가(7개국): 미국, 영국, 캐나다, 오스트레일리아, 뉴질랜드, 아일랜드, 남아프리카공화국"
- BILINGUAL COURSE (이중언어과정, 50% or more of the credits in Chinese or Vietnamese, or with interpretation): no language test, "별도의 어학요건 없음". The Chinese flexible-semester course (유연학기제) starts in November
- Selection: documents only for every department (박사 서류, 석사 서류). Exception: 교육학과 in the flexible-semester course, documents then an interview for twice the places ("서류 평가에서 2배수 선발 후 면접 시행")
- Places: "제한 없음" outside the quota, by academic ability; a department may stop recruiting if too few apply. Only 교육학과 (flexible semester) prints a number: 6명 (추가3 guide; the first-round guide printed 14 master's and 6 PhD)
- Application by post (the notes add in person: "우편 및 방문 접수") to 국제교류원, 경영관 B101호, Chungcheong campus, for both campuses; a China office in Guangzhou also receives papers (+86-20-2890-8980). Papers must arrive by the deadline
- TUITION: no table in the admissions guide. Figures shown are from the 2027 brochure (14 October 2026), "subject to change", plus 입학금 800,000 won once; bilingual course: interpretation fee 450,000 (master's) or 600,000 (PhD), 2026 guide
- The 2027 brochure prints no period; the 2026 guides bill tuition a semester. Its figures are 3.1% above the 2026 Korean course guide's "2025. 03. 기준" table, the rise the tuition committee set for 2026
- Length (graduate academic page, undated): master's and PhD 2 years (4 semesters); master's 24 credits with thesis or 30 without; PhD 36 credits. Foreign students sit the foreign-language exam in a language other than their mother tongue
- After tuition is paid, a refund asked for because of a visa refusal or delay follows the 「대학등록금에 관한 규칙」 and may be partial (guide note 9). The Korean guide prevails over its translations
