What do I need?
- Application form (school form, PDF p.20 or p.23 in English) with the personal-data consent and a photo taken within 6 months
- Family relation certificate: proves your relation to both parents, issued by your government within 6 months, Korean or English (notarised translation); proof of the reason if a parent is absent
- As printed for Chinese nationals (택1): 호구부 사본 공증서, or 출생증명서, or proof where a parent is absent. Other nationalities (택1): a government family relation certificate, or proof where a parent is absent
- Nationality proof for you and both parents: passport copies or a home-country nationality certificate (ID), within 6 months, notarised translation for anything but passport copies
- As printed for Chinese nationals (택1): parents' passport copies, or 거민신분증 copies, or proof where a parent is absent. Other nationalities (택1): parents' passport copies, or government-issued parents' ID copies
- Alien registration card copy, both sides, only if you live in Korea
- Language proof for your track (TOPIK, JB-TOPIK, KIIP, King Sejong, institute certificate, or TOEFL, IELTS, TEPS). Expired reports are not accepted; JB-TOPIK is valid 1 year
- FRESHMEN: high school graduation (or expected) certificate and the full high school transcript, Korean or English (notarised translation), with Korean consular confirmation or an apostille, issued within 6 months
- Any part of high school done in Korea: file the 학교생활기록부 (school record) instead of the enrolment or grade certificate
- Admitted on an expected-graduation certificate: file the graduation certificate, with Korean consular confirmation or an apostille, as soon as it is issued
- Schools in China, as printed: general high school or university, a 중국교육부 학위(학력) 인증센터 original; vocational high school, the certificate confirmed by the provincial 교육청 or city 교육국 and then consul or apostille
- Schools elsewhere: consular confirmation by the Korean mission in the school's country, or an apostille issued in that country (an apostille from another country is not accepted)
- TRANSFERS: university completion (or expected) or graduation (or expected) certificate stating the system (3 or 4 years) and semesters, plus the university transcript
- Transfer papers from a Korean university: originals. Universities in China (택1): a CHSI original, or consular confirmation or apostille. Elsewhere: Korean consular confirmation or an apostille from the school's country
- Papers from schools abroad must show the issuing school, the department and a contact. If your name differs between papers, add an official certificate from that country proving it is the same person
NO APPLICATION FEE: "전형료: 없음". No exceptions printed.
REFUND: full refund if asked by the deadline (Fall 2026: 31 August 2026, 16:00) with the registration withdrawal form (www.joongbu.ac.kr, 입학 정보, 입시 도우미) handed to 국제교류원. Later requests follow the school rules and the 「대학등록금에 관한 규칙」.
BANK BALANCE: no amount is printed. Admitted students file a financial certificate on the date the school sets, under the Ministry of Justice student-visa rules; without it the admission can be cancelled.
The Korean course guide (for D-4 students) asks 8,000,000 won; nothing on the site gives a degree-course amount. Ask the office before you budget.
ENTRANCE FEE 600,000 WON, ONCE ("Entrance Fee : 600,000 won" in the 2027 brochure tuition table; the same in the 2026 Korean course guide). Interpretation fees are charged separately for the Chinese (dual-language) track, amount not printed.
Tuition figures are from the school's 2027 brochure (posted 14 October 2026; "Tuition fees are subject to change"; no period or year basis printed). The 2026 guides bill tuition a semester.
Older figures differ: the 2026 Korean course guide prints "2025. 03. 기준" rates (e.g. 3,117,000 won for Police Administration), the 2026 English brochure 3,285,000 won. Ask the office for your own bill.
Dormitory (2027 brochure): Chungcheong campus 4-person room 1,090,000 won for 6 months, 2,180,000 won a year, common kitchen; Goyang campus 2-person room "4 Months: KRW 1.3 Million", cooking not allowed.
Under the same table: "Chungcheong Campus: KRW 250,000 living support allowance, Goyang Campus: KRW 400,000 living support allowance" (who gets it and how often not printed). The 2026 Korean course guide printed 950,000 and 1,300,000 won for 6 months.
The dormitory office's Fall 2026 notices (May 2026) print 경영관 (Chungcheong) 670,000 won a semester, 4 to a room, and 수경재 (Goyang) 1,300,000 won a semester, 2 to a room, meals not included, places by grades and distance. Ask which rate applies to you.
Dormitory move-in for Fall 2026 was 29 to 31 August 2026 with a chest X-ray (TB) certificate within one month (dormitory notices of 20 August 2026). Semester start 31 August 2026 (dormitory notice).

All requirements
- THE FALL 2026 GUIDE IS THE NEWEST FULL GUIDE. The school's 2027 English brochure (14 October 2026) says Spring applications are in November but prints no dates, so the dates shown are the Fall 2026 round
- You and both parents are foreign nationals (순수외국인) AND you graduated (or will) from a high school in Korea or abroad. Dual nationals holding Korean nationality and stateless persons are not accepted
- Only regular school courses recognised under your country's education law count. Equivalency exams and homeschooling are not mentioned in the guide
- KOREAN TRACK, one of: TOPIK 3 (PBT or IBT); JB-TOPIK 3 (the school's own test, valid 1 year); KIIP at TOPIK 3 level (pre-test 61 or stage 3, or KLCT, KIPRAT or KINAT pass); King Sejong Institute intermediate 1 (overseas, not online)
- Arts and sport departments (예체능 계열) need TOPIK 2 or JB-TOPIK 2 instead
- Other departments may also enter with TOPIK 2 (or JB-TOPIK 2) PLUS level 3 or higher finished (or finishing) at the school's Korean centre, a Korean university institute or an institute the school recognises
- KIIP or King Sejong papers at TOPIK 2 level (pre-test 41, stage 2, 초급2) do not count for that TOPIK 2 plus institute route. Expired scores are not accepted
- ENGLISH TRACK (three departments, 50% or more of the credits in English), one of: TOEFL iBT 3.5 (59); IELTS 5.5; NEW TEPS 202; an equal recognised private test; or schooling in one of the seven listed English-speaking countries
- As printed: "영어를 모국어로 사용하는 국가(7개국): 미국 · 영국 · 캐나다 · 오스트레일리아 · 뉴질랜드 · 아일랜드 · 남아프리카공화국". Their nationals, or students who finished secondary or higher education there, qualify with the school certificates
- CHINESE TRACK (이중언어과정, 50% or more of the credits in Chinese or with Korean-Chinese interpretation): no language test, "한국어-중국어 통역 교과목을 이수할 수 있는 자격을 갖춘 자"
- Selection: documents 100%, no interview or test, for every track and round. Places: "제한 없음" (no numbered quota). Papers go by post or in person to 국제교류원, 경영관 B101호, Chungcheong campus, for both campuses
- TRANSFERS, year 3: a 3-year junior college degree, or 2 years (4 semesters) and 67 credits at a 4-year university, or 3 years (6 semesters) there. Year 4: the junior college degree or the 6 semesters, same major only
- Results are notified individually; the admission letter and tuition bill must be collected at 국제교류원 in person or by proxy. Unpaid tuition means a fail. Full refund if asked by 31 August 2026 16:00 (Fall 2026)
- Applicants whose parents or who themselves are illegal residents in Korea are excluded. "본교 교과과정은 대부분 한국어로 진행함" (most classes are in Korean)
- TUITION: the admissions guide has no tuition table. The figures shown are from the school's 2027 brochure (14 October 2026), "subject to change", plus 입학금 600,000 won once. The brochure prints no period; the 2026 guides bill a semester
- The financial certificate for the visa is filed on a date the school sets after admission (법무부 지침); the guide prints no amount. The guarantor can only be you or a parent (a relative or a Korean third party needs proof of the relation)
