What do I need?

- Colour ID photo, 3.5 x 4.5 cm
- Passport copy
- Certificate of your highest education, with an apostille or consular legalisation
- Official transcript of that education, with an apostille or consular legalisation
- Birth or family relations certificate, apostilled, if your country is on KAIST's list
- Self-introduction, statement of purpose and study plan
THE LANGUAGE CENTER ISSUES THE CERTIFICATE OF ADMISSION you take to the Korean embassy for a D-4 visa.
Its pages print no bank-balance amount. Ask the Korean embassy in your country what it wants.
The 100,000 fee is paid right after you apply and is not refunded. Papers are not returned.

All requirements
- High school graduate or higher. KAIST students and students on leave are preferred, but you need not be one
- THE SHORTEST STAY IS SIX MONTHS, two terms. KAIST sells the course in blocks of 6 months, 1 year or 18 months
- Applicants from the countries KAIST lists must register for four terms, one year, and send a family relations certificate: African countries, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, East Timor, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yemen
- KAIST may also ask for a family relations certificate from applicants from Bangladesh, Cameroon, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guinea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mali, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan and Vietnam
- Each term is 200 hours. To pass it you attend at least 160 of them (80%)
- Classes of 10 to 14 students. About a year and a half takes you through all six levels
