Published by Kangnam University. Which of these a scholarship covers is decided by the school.

What do I need?

• Application form (download after applying online and print), with a colour photo 3.5 x 4.5 cm uploaded; education verification consent form (school form)
• Proof of foreign nationality. China: ID cards (both sides) of you and your parents, and your passport copy if you have one
• Elsewhere: passport copies of you and your parents (a home ID copy if there is no passport, with a notarised translation if not in English)
• Family relation proof, as printed. China: notarised Korean or English translation of the family relation certificate. Vietnam: household register (So Ho Khau) or birth certificate (Giay khai sinh). Mongolia: kinship certificate
• Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan: birth certificate. Notarised Korean or English translation, original. Other countries ask the office. Parents deceased, divorced or remarried: the related certificates
• Korean track: one Korean proof (TOPIK 3, Sejong Institute intermediate 1, KIIP stage 3 or pre-test 61, or a level 3 language institute certificate). Bilingual tracks: not required
• English track: one English score, unless English is your native or official language
• High school diploma (or expected) and transcript: apostille or consular confirmation, English original. China: CHSI English printout for graduates; vocational and other school types follow the guide's own table
• If you live in Korea: alien registration card copy and an immigration record certificate
• After results: the bank balance certificate (see notes); expected graduates add the final diploma and transcript; applicants without a passport add the copy

THE BANK BALANCE IS KRW 20,000,000 equivalent, original, in your or a parent's name, Korean or foreign bank, filed after results and before the admission letter. A foreign bank certificate must show RMB 120,000 or USD 16,000 or more.

As printed: "중국은행 발급 서류는 2026.09.30까지 동결 필수". The English guide renders it "If issued by a Bank of China" (p.10) and "If issued by a Chinese bank" (p.13): frozen until 30 September 2026. Applicants in Korea file a Korean bank certificate in their own name.

Applicants moving up from Kangnam's Language Education Center file KRW 10,000,000 equivalent in their own name. Scholarship holders file the scholarship proof instead; recognised refugees file none.

The round-2 registration notice adds: issued within 30 days of the (expected) visa date, and the balance frozen until after 30 September 2026.

Application fee 100,000 won, paid by WeChat Pay or PayPal through the Shinhan Bank links in the guide, within the online window, or the application is cancelled. No waiver is printed.

Tuition is paid by WeChat Pay or PayPal through the bill's QR code, or from a Korean bank account to a virtual account, in full. Round 1: 2 to 7 July 2026; round 2: 29 July to 3 August 2026, by 19:00.

Admission letter by e-mail: mid July (round 1) and the second week of August 2026 (round 2), as planned in the guide and notice. Round 2 extra papers were best sent by 7 August.

ENTRANCE FEE: the guide prints a higher "first (entrance) semester" amount and a lower "after the first semester" amount, but never names an entrance fee or says what the difference is. Ask the office.

Dormitory a semester (guide label: March 2026): Simjeon Hall 1, rooms for 4, 670,000 won; Simjeon Hall 2, rooms for 2, 1,250,000 won. Not included: student council fee 20,000 won and deposit (Hall 1 100,000 won, Hall 2 20,000 won).

International students live in the school dormitory in principle unless there is a special reason. No meal price is printed. Round 2 notice: move-in late August, no separate dormitory application; airport pick-up planned.

Health insurance: you join National Health Insurance automatically on entry to Korea; no premium is printed.

All requirements

• LANGUAGES in this row: Chinese or Vietnamese for 50% or more of graduation credits (or with interpretation), the rest in Korean. No English route: the English track is Business Administration only
• You AND both parents are foreign nationals. If you or a parent holds Korean nationality, or you are a dual national, you cannot apply
• A change of nationality counts only if you and your parents took foreign nationality before you began schooling equal to Korean high school. Korean-origin families file proof of the loss of Korean nationality
• If only one parent is legally your family, only that parent's nationality counts (shown by a government document)
• SCHOOLING: 12 or more years of primary and secondary school in Korea or abroad and a high school diploma, or an equal level. Qualification exams (검정고시), homeschooling and online education are NOT accepted
• KOREAN TRACK, one of: TOPIK 3 or higher; Sejong Institute Korean intermediate 1 or higher; KIIP stage 3 or higher, or 61 points or more on its pre-test
• Or level 3 or higher finished at Kangnam's Language Education Center, or at the language institute of a Korean university
• BILINGUAL TRACKS, as printed: Chinese track, a national of a country whose native or legal official language is Chinese; Vietnamese track, the same with Vietnamese. No Korean score is required
• ENGLISH TRACK (Business Administration only), one of: a national of a country whose native or legal official language is English; or one English score (next line)
• English scores as printed: TOEFL "530 / CBT 197/ Ibt 71" (old scale; no figure on the new 1 to 6 scale is printed: ask), IELTS 5.5, CEFR B2, TEPS "601 (NEW TEPS 327)". The IELTS score must be checkable online (link in the guide)
• Bilingual and English tracks teach 50% or more of graduation credits in that language (or with interpretation), the rest in Korean, and their students must take Korean courses. If a track cannot run, the admissions site will say so
• Every international student except English-track entrants must meet the school's language standard to graduate (the level is not printed in the guide)
• SELECTION: documents 100% (academic and language ability) for every unit except Music (documents 20%, practical test 80%) and Design (documents 40%, practical test 60%). Practical tests: 18 June (round 1) and 16 July 2026 (round 2)
• TUITION (guide table, March 2026 amounts, may change; 2027 not posted). First (entrance) semester / later semesters, in won:
• humanities and social 4,248,000 / 3,927,000; Physical Education 4,930,000 / 4,609,000; engineering 5,308,000 / 4,987,000; arts 5,581,000 / 5,260,000
• The tuition shown on each row is the later-semester amount. The guide never names an entrance fee or says what the higher first semester covers: ask the office. Bands are printed by unit group only; Liberal Studies has none
• No skipped grades or early graduation in principle, no general leave of absence in your first semester, and students admitted this way may not pay tuition in instalments
• Applicants staying in Korea cannot leave Korea while the admission letter is issued and the visa is changed
• Transfer students have their own Fall 2026 guide (편입학 모집요강, admissions guide board, posted 23 April 2026; linked in the sources, not shown here)
• THE FALL 2026 GUIDE IS THE NEWEST. Its rounds closed on 29 May and 3 July 2026, and no Spring 2027 guide was posted on 19 October 2026 (still none on 21 October)
• Timing hint only: last year, Spring 2026 freshman applications ran online 10 November to 10 December 2025 (admissions notice of 9 December 2025 with the corrected schedule). These are not Spring 2027 dates

• A different route: the admissions office's "2027 special admission for overseas Koreans and foreigners" (정원외, outside the regular quota), which also takes applicants who did all their schooling abroad
• That route took applications 7 to 11 September 2026 (closed) and announces results on 18 December 2026. Its rules differ from this guide
• DESIGN and MUSIC in the Chinese track sit the same practical test as the Korean track: Design, compose 2 of the 3 objects on a sheet given by lot, in 4 hours (documents 40%, test 60%)
• Music (documents 20%, test 80%): piano 2 free pieces; voice a German art song plus an Italian art song or aria; violin, cello, flute or clarinet 1 free piece. Bring your own accompanist
