What do I need?
- Online application on Kangwon's own system Apply
- Copy of your passport
- Diploma from your last school, apostilled or embassy-certified, issued within six months
- Final transcript, apostilled or embassy-certified, issued within six months
- Copy of an ID for each family member, in English
- Letter of guarantee and a bank statement showing more than USD 6,000, issued within a month
- Application fee, 70,000 won, not refunded
CHECK WHETHER YOU MAY APPLY AT ALL before you gather anything: from 2026 sixteen nationalities are closed, with three exceptions. Both are under Requirements.
SCAN, UPLOAD, THEN POST. Kangwon checks the scans, then asks for the originals by international post, to arrive before the application deadline.
Parents' bank statement? Add a kinship or birth certificate. Mongolian, Vietnamese and Uzbek applicants add three months of transactions; Uzbeks use KDB Bank, Vietnamese Woori or Shinhan.
THE BANK FIGURE DIFFERS BY PAGE: the programme's documents page says more than USD 6,000; Kangwon's fall 2026 degree guide says at least 8,000,000 won. Ask [email protected] which applies.
Kangwon says any application period may close early.

- FROM 2026 KANGWON DOES NOT ACCEPT ORDINARY APPLICATIONS from Ghana, Guinea, Nigeria, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Uganda, Iran, Egypt, India, Cameroon, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Peru or the Philippines
- Three exceptions, in Kangwon's own words: applicants recommended by its partner institutions, family members of Kangwon students, and residents of Chuncheon city
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- D-4 VISA ONLY IF YOU ENROL FOR AT LEAST TWO TERMS
- To move up a level you need 80% attendance and an average of 70
- Refunds only before the term starts
- No part-time work in your first six months in Korea
