What do I need?

• Application on uwayapply with every document uploaded as a colour PDF; study plan on the school form (Korean or English)
• Bachelor's transcript and degree proof (China: CHSI degree verification report plus a qualification report or notarised diploma; elsewhere apostille or consular confirmation); PhD applicants add the master's transcript and degree
• Nationality proof issued within a year: government birth or family relation certificate with notarised translation; passports and national IDs of you and both parents; alien registration cards if held
• Optional: TOPIK report, English score (Electronic Engineering only), a professor's recommendation, career and research proofs

THE BANK BALANCE IS 20,000,000 WON (USD 16,000, CNY 120,000), issued at most two weeks before you collect the Certificate of Admission, frozen until six months after the semester starts; abroad in your or a parent's name, in Korea in your own name at a Korean bank. Two originals (one for immigration). GKS and government scholars may be exempt.

Application fee 140,000 won, refunded only if the university cancels the screening. Entrance fee 1,029,000 won once.

Dormitory: on-campus four-person room 796,240 won a semester (2026).

All requirements

• A bachelor's (master's or integrated) or a master's (PhD) held or expected before entry; you and both biological parents foreign nationals who never held Korean nationality during your bachelor's years. Different-field applicants welcome
• NO TOPIK REQUIRED: language is judged at the interview (in person in Korea, Zoom from abroad); file a TOPIK report only if you have one. To graduate: TOPIK 4 (humanities) or 3 (other fields), or a KLC course
• Only Electronic Engineering takes an English score (taught at least half in English); Global Business is taught in Chinese; every other department teaches in Korean
• THE FALL 2026 GUIDE IS THE NEWEST: no Spring 2027 dates are published. The office says Spring rounds normally open mid-October (round 1) and early January (round 2), sometimes only one; check iat.kookmin.ac.kr
• Course length: master's four semesters (24 credits), PhD four (36), integrated eight (54)
• Not recruiting (Fall 2026): Service Management, Entrepreneurship, Dyslexia Education. Design, Fine Arts, Music and Performing Arts add a practical or portfolio evaluation
